The Islanders are entertaining any type of offer for the #5 pick. We'd preferably like to move up or trade it for a top 6 forward or #2 defenseman.

PA Parenteau and Trent Hunter are available for anyone looking for cheap wingers. We will consider offers for Josh Bailey but do not plan on moving him.

Dallas Stars Re-sign 2 Restricted Free Agents: Bachman and Sceviour

Richard Bachman: 1 year, two-way for $550,000/NHL and $85,000/AHL

Colton Sceviour: 1 year, two-way for $600,000/NHL and $75,000/AHL

Richard Bachman proved to be a top ECHL goalie in his first pro season. This past season, his first in the AHL, Bachman again stepped up and proved to be one of the best in the AHL. Bachman will push Andrew Raycroft for the backup role in Dallas next season, but he'll likely backstop the Texas Stars at least one more season.

Colton Sceviour just might be ready for the NHL. He'll be given the opportunity to play RW with Mike Ribeiro and Brenden Morrow in camp, but Dallas plans to acquire some competition for the young winger in the off-season.

Dallas will not tender a qualifying offer to Guillaume Monast or Sean Backman. They will become UFAs on July 1st.

Dallas Stars Re-sign 4 Unrestricted Free Agents: Gagnon, Ludwig, Morin, and Sawada

Aaron Gagnon: 1 year, two-way contract for $750,000 ($700,000/NHL; $50,000 signing bonus; $100,000/AHL)

Ray Sawada: : 1 year, two-way contract for $750,000 ($700,000/NHL; $50,000 signing bonus; $100,000/AHL)

Trevor Ludwig: 1 year, two-way contract for $600,000/NHL ($75,000/AHL)

Travis Morin: 1 year, two-way contract for $600,000 ($550,000/NHL; $50,000 signing bonus; $100,000/AHL)

Gagnon and Sawada will likely win roles in the NHL out of camp on Dallas' 4th line, but Dallas will have several players vying for those roles.

Ludwig is developing quite well in the AHL, and we feel like he can provide depth to the organization. His role in Austin will continue to grow.

Morin is Dallas' best forward in the AHL. His steady, veteran presence only makes our young prospects better. He'll continue to center the top line in Austin.

✔ Gritty winger Micheal Haley has been re-signed to a 1 year contract worth $650,000 and projects to be a staple on the Islanders infamous 4th line.

I removed the 23 man roster rule. Since we end the game pre-training camp, it doesn't seem totally fair. Any problems with this?

Florida Re-signs Key RFAs

mikesantorelli-300x237.jpg

Mike Santorelli was just one of six key restricted free agents to re-sign with the Florida Panthers on Saturday.

Shaun Matthias - 1yr/862,750/TW
Mike Santorelli - 2yr/1,500,000/OW
Jack Skille - 1yr/660,000/OW
Michal Repik - 1yr/700,000/TW
Byron Bitz - 1yr/721,875/TW
Tyler Plante - 1yr/721,875/TW

We brought back some key guys today, Matthias, Repik and Bitz will all have to compete for roster spots, while Skille and Santorelli will likely get Top 9 play on our young team. Plante will also be given an oppertunity to play in Sunrise this season.

So is the rule we have to be at the cap by the end of the game gone too? Or can we end the game at the "off-season" cap?

I'd like you to be under the $62.3M cap. But if you have a few smaller contracts that put you a couple million over, that's alright. I don't want people having $68M cap hits with no logical way they can get under. If you get my point.

Oh i get your point, just wanted it spelled out so it doesnt cause problems later int he game when some guy goes nuts in FA and has like a $68M cap hit (cause as we know, these things invaribaly do :sarcasm:)

Sharks acquire Niclas Bergfors

To :sharks:
Niclas Bergfors

To :panthers:
William Wrenn
2nd round pick

We believe that Niclas's passing ability and speed will make for an excellent pairing with third line center Joe Pavelski.

Burns is not available for anything remotely realistic.

Everyone else is, though. Obviously Koivu would be hard to get, but it's pretty much a firesale up in here.

We really like the youth and upside to Wrenn's game, and Niclas isn't part of my plan for the Panthers. We wish him well in San Jose, and hope he gets a shot at the cup for years to come.

Minnesota willing to take albatross contracts, so long as there is a relatively minor incentive involved as well.
