So where will they send their Minor Leaguers?
No idea, they don't have have an agreement in place to share an affiliation with anyone yet, but they will have limited spots in 2021-22, so they won't be taking too many minor leaguers.

I bet they take between 4-6 Minor Leaguers

umm We are taking 30 players in the expansion draft and who knows how many players via side trades... NO way there are only going to be 4-6 available spots to send players down. That's not how things work.

Capitals just got eliminated from the playoffs.

Yeah and the Oilers just blew a 4-1 lead with less than ten minutes left in the third period.
They're now down 3-0 to the Jets and need a miracle to make it to the next round.

If they're out in round one I would expect them to change things up(like the Caps might do as well) which could impact the expansion draft.

Congrats on your first Part 2 thread, Seattle! You'll be having pointless 30-part speculative threads before ya know it ;)

Will chip in my Devils thoughts (as in previous thread) when I get a chance. Cheers.

Change things up? Like not resigning RNH or A Larsson those are probably a given...the goaltending stinks so Smith and Koskinen have to go I'm thinking! They protect "Leonard Skinnyrd" while exposing Stalock,Koskinen. Not sure what the Oilers do or offer up that's any good for Seattle Kraken...Turris,Archibald,Khaira?Only player that's young and has a decent future ahead is Caleb Jones

Ducks list looks the closest I've seen so far. Of the available players I'm hope/guessing it's Mahura.

Potential Picks: Foegele, Geekie, Skjei, Hamilton (UFA).

Pretty much. I think Foegele gets protected and Fast is left unprotected. The debate leading up to the draft will be Skjei vs Bean for the last spot, and/or what sweetener it would take to get Seattle to take Geekie instead of the one of Skjei/Bean left unprotected.

Last month, I was pretty sure they would expose Skjei, protect Bean, and try to sign Hamilton after the expansion draft. After 4 playoff games, that may have flipped if they cannot work out a deal.

For one I think Carolina is going to try to get Seattle Kraken to take one of their highly paid D-men,while they "shy" away from Bean. Of course Canes throw in a prospect like Bokk,Grunler and/ Sellgren and a first rounder! The Canes have a lot invested on the Blueline and Hamilton still to sign, yikes

Barring any surprises I think you have the Blues options accurate here.

If the cost is Bokk/Grunler/Sellgren plus a first to take Gardiner?

Take Bean.

Matches my expected list for my Devils barring any trades (they could add a D-man and then Subban would presumably be exposed). Merkley and Studenic rate as dark horse pick candidates as well. I would not anticipate getting any side-deal picks from the Devils to steer the pick. If anything the Devils will be sorta competing with Seattle by trying to help a protection jammed team come out better than they would just losing a guy for nothing in the expandion draft.

Random note on Minnesota - feels like a team that will succeed in getting at least Parise to waive NMC at the least. Toughest team to project.

If they really want cap space, to do something this offseason, they could offer a sweetener to take Neal.

Also, looking at the latest news out of Vancouver I wouldn't be surprised if Francis will be offered a side deal to take on some contract given that their GM wants to be "aggressive in free agency".
I mean, he's clearly in a "job saving mode" and has done some stupid stuff(during free agency) before.

I think it would have to be a nice sweetener to stay away from either Skjei or Bean.
Probably a prospect + pick while we select Geekie during the expansion draft.

How accurate are these protection/potential pick lists?

Wild: 8-1 (Parise NMC waived)
Protected: Zuccarello, Fiala, Foligno, Greenway, Hartman, Eriksson Ek, Sturm, Spurgeon, Suter (NMC), Brodin. Kahkonen.
Potential Picks: Dumba, Soucy, Talbot, Rask.

You have the Wild listed as if they are going 7-3-1. There is, however, a tremendous disagreement in the fan base as to just what to do. So, assuming Parise waives (and he might as well, because you aren't picking him anyway), then:
7-3-1: Protect: Zucc, Fiala, Foligno, Ek, Greenway, Hartman, Sturm for Forwards. Suter, Spurgeon, Brodin for D.
Available: Dumba, Soucy, Talbot (or Kahkonen - we're not sure who to protect), Rask, Parise

8-1: Protect: Zucc, Fiala, Ek, Greenway (or Foligno) for Forwards. Suter, Spurgeon, Brodin, Dumba for D.
Available: Foligno (or Greenway), Hartman, Sturm, Soucy, plus a Goalie.

If you are guessing, I would guess Minnesota goes 7-3-1, because they just resigned Hartman, and it seems strange to re-sign him and then expose him.

Each team has to expose a certain number of signed players with a minimum amount of games played. They may have had to sign Hartman to make him one of those sacrificial players.

Yeah, that's 2 forwards, 1 defender, 1 goalie under contract for 2021-22 or being an RFA.

Minny has no problem reaching that number(Rask, Sturm, Soucy, Talbot) even if they go 7-3-1.
And I actually expect them to do so and either being able to have Suter/Spurgeon waive their NMC, cause we wouldn't take them at their age and contract, or looking to trade Dumba before the expansion draft.

BTW: Looking at NMC's.
So far Milan Lucic has waived and also Eric Johnson of Colorado's supposed to signal his willingness to do so.

Barring any surprises I think you have the Blues options accurate here.

Sundqvist is coming off a major injury so they might expose him and keep Barbashev. Certainly, Sanford and Blais will be exposed. If GM Army doesn't make a deal with Seattle to keep Dunn, then most likely they will trade him to get some return.

It will be interesting to see the exposure lists and trades/ deals the Blues, Wild , Avalanche, Penguins, and Lightning make to protect some pretty good players.

I think you are right about their original reasoning, but he has been awesome for them in the playoffs and is exactly the kind of player they need. So I wouldn't be surprised if they figure out a way to keep him.
