What would he cost? I wouldn't pay much for someone that thinks an all star basketball game is more important than hockey practice.

Only way I would do it is if Beleskey goes the other way as part of the deal. Beleskey + Spooner + Grezlcyk for E. Kane + pick.

If they get him for cheap, sure. His contract only lasts a year, so if it doesn't work out then no big loss.

What have you got to lose? He's the right age (25). Plays the right way. Size and Speed. Shoot first. Not signed long term. If it's a buy low, I'd go for it.

Hes a UFA after this year. Depending on what we're giving up I'd certainly take him. Theres plenty of high character vets on this team to keep him in check, and his services are really needed on Krejcis LW.

I highly doubt he could be acquired for what we'd be ok with giving up, though.

Ah, nice. Love this time of year! I really want to like Kane. I really really do, but he just doesn't seem to be able to put everything together. He can be really good if everything clicks, but do you really want to take that chance on this team?

For sure.

Beleksey, Grizz and 3rd/4th would be a good trade for me. Anything that is considered higher than that no thanks.

Kane > Vatrano, Beleskey as our options right now.

Yea, I risk it. Do I sell the farm? Hell no. But at the right price, could be a good grab by us.

People say how strong our leadership is.

Marchand - Bergeron - Backes
Kane - Krejci - Pastrnak

I wouldn't complain too much.

What chance?? If he doesn't mesh you can always send him to the minors.

Like I said above, you need to get rid of a contract to make this happen and if thats the case I absolutely consider it.

What makes anyone think his character issues wont continue into Boston? They have followed him everywhere he has gone thus far.

Im all set.

Plus, Eklund rumor. Means it wont happen.

I'd agree. This is a perfect buy low option. We have several left wing prospects pushing, but this gives us a true top 6 talent. He has the hockey ability, just a little question about attitude. But with one year left, seems worth a gamble for the right price.

Who wouldn't do it if it meant Beleskey going the other way? One year of Kane partying beats multiple years of Beleskey doing nothing for way too much money. It's not impossible that he smartens up on a cup contender, playing for Buffalo would drive a lot of people to drink.

Depends on what we have to give up for him. This team is on the edge of being a very good hockey team. If you don't bring in the right pieces this or next Summer, the team might waste the last few years of the core of this team. The window isn't going to be open very long. Our vet core has a few more years of prime, and the young guns will be good on cheap contracts for a few years. Those two things need to align and getting the right pieces the next couple of off seasons can push this team over the top.

Contract year. In all seriousness though, I'm sure that will factor in. Any slip up could be the difference in a $40 Million dollar long term contact and an "earn it" single year deal.

Most people mature eventually. Some take longer than others. He's 25 going on 26. Not saying that's the issue, but sometimes you have to take a chance. Not every dressing room has to be full of robotic personalities with similar makeup. Show up to work. Work hard. It shouldn't be that difficult. What happens away from the rink is nobody's business. Even Kane must understand this is the time to milk whatever you can. That flow of income isn't going to be there 10-15 years from now. Milk your athletic prime for what it's worth.
