Look, I liked Wellwood a lot too, and this is a bummer (though an anticipated one), but he only played in a handful of NHL games. I wouldn't say he was a good 4th liner who could play the PK...I would say he could have been that if he continued to develop. He looked good in his limited time with the Flyers, but as I like to point out, small stretches spread out over several seasons doesn't mean a guy is anything. But it is hard to say a guy that played 31 games in three seasons is (or was) anything more than a guy with potential.
