Staal has 15g, 18a in 48 gp., and is on pace for 26g, 56 pts. Last year he had 42g, 76 pts., and the year before 28g, 65 pts. Stone's career high is 26g.
Staal makes 3.5M, which, when prorated, will likely be about 1-1.5M...pretty easy for most teams to eat, and if not, I'm sure MN can help out a bit if it's worth their while.

He is worth more than a late 1st. If any team thinks they can get Stone or Schenn for the same, you're dreaming.

I don’t think staal gets that unless he’s the only center available at the deadline and a team with two seconds desperately has a need for a 2C. A team like San Jose comes to mind, but I don’t see staal being a huge need for them.

Agree: when they were getting whipped by the likes of Detroit and Philly and slipping toward lottery pick territory this would have been in play. Hell, they are back up to 3rd, and beating some pretty good teams. Leipold won't be authorizing a tank just yet, even though I have....
