There was nothing he could do there. Azpilicueta cleared it right to him, no one in front to block, and a perfect strike.
Actually I think he got double screened there by Koulibaly and whoever was next to Koulibaly

Regardless that’s not on mendy lol

Yeah, he got screened for sure, just saying no one was close to Lavia to impact the shot is what I meant.

Very un-azpi like play. Disappointing.

you have three defenders combined age of 100 and no one calls out to pick up the trailer

not a good look for azpi, jorginho, ziyech there

the worry w azpi staying was that the signs of an ivanovic like decline were there

not a good performance if his goal was to quash those fears

Sterling Koulibaly Thiago were the only ones who looked noticeably good that half

Then and there
Jorginho was just jogging back and didn't get into a defensive position at all, Azpilicueta marking no-one.

It was end of the 1st half and he was probably tired, but Chelsea just can't get away with Jorginho being assigned to supposed to be the most defensive midfielder in the line-up.

Dunk own goal. Poor second-half start from Brighton. Potter needs to change some things up

That's the drawback with the 4-3-3, we don't have a #6 for that role. Jorginho isn't good enough defensively for it, that's why he works best in a back 3.
