The thought of the Boston Bruins going into next year without Gold on the staff makes me even more nervous about our obvious Cap challenges. Yikes.

I kind of like it. You bring people into the org and teach them the ropes from top to bottom and they are under contract why should anyone be able to come in and swoop them up?

When Gold was with the Caps all he did was look after the cap. In Boston, he has led the legal department, scouts, does contract negotiations, is the AGM and now adds GM of Providence.

They've groomed him so why should they give him up?

Because they are holding him back from a better job and more money. I get it but Sweeney probably Isn’t going anywhere for a while.

IF BERTUZZI isn't signed by the draft. Negotiations went no where and
bruins will not sign him. Bertuzzi will opt for more money with another team.
if sweeney wants you he gets you signed before all others have a chance.
