Hes not getting fired,

What you will likely see at the end of this year is Benning moving into a Presidents role while he hires a new GM. Canucks are keen building a reputation for long standing management.

And if it wasn’t for a global pandemic the Habs wouldn’t have made the playoffs. Lol

One option that promoting Benning out of harm's way at the end of the season leaves open having Benning handle the draft during the transition while the new GM focuses on negotiating contracts (providing strategic guidance to Chris Gear, who handles the actual dollars and cents part of negotiations), and free agency.

Canucks don’t have a history of making management and coaching changes during the season. If we are too not bring a manager or coach back it won’t be until after the season is over and before the draft.

Canucks dominate a lot of their games but can’t put the puck in.. and make the worst defensive plays at the worst possible time that lead to goals.. and how many own goals they scored this year.. at least 5-6 so far

If Benning gets the hook, the Canucks might jump at the chance to bring in Pierre McGuire - I heard he knows everything.

And also have hit the post more than any other team.

This start has been series of unfortunate events but their last 4 games have been very promising in terms of possession and play.

Any recent news on this?

Was Elliot's info all wrong?
Look up the Canucks owner, Francesco Aquilini on Twitter. He tweeted a thread dispelling the rumour but he backed both of his last two GM’s publically before firing them.

Canucks fans might not like Jim Benning.

But they should be reminded that Peter Chiarelli is out there, lurking and looming and applying for vacant jobs.
Losing in 2011 meant losing to both of these guys. Canucks have a love affair with their tormentors.
