No chance Canucks do this. Pettersson may have had a slow start, but he’s been at PPG since the mid point of the season, and a 100 pt pace over the past 20 games. Considering he was at 0.5 PPG prior after missing almost all of last season, it’s quite good that he is managing to pace a 27 goal / 60 point season. He has the higher ceiling of the two players, I wouldn’t be trading him.

The Canucks should say no due to Pettersson being a big part of the offense in Vancouver and due to the fact that Pettersson is a better scorer then Suzuki.

The Canadiens should say no due to Suzuki being the better centre out of the two players and also due to the fact that Suzuki is under long term 8 year contract after this season and won’t have to negotiate a new deal, as is the case with Pettersson’s contract at the end of the 23-24 season.

Suzuki steadily progressing as his team’s offensive focal point.

Pettersson seemingly stalling/regressing and being relegated to a second line winger.

Not saying Vancouver would take the deal, but Montreal would hang up the phone before they even heard the “sson.”

It's good to know a guy who has 32 points in his last 30 games is regressing

Both players have been a lot better since the teams have changed coaches, not just Suzuki, you'd know that if you bothered to any research.

both players wasting their prime years away and won't see much post season play in their career. Swapping the same crap will yield the same crop results. Just swap and see. If no good, then trade back.

I think Pettersson is the better player but Suzuki has a better contract and is signed longer. Overall its a pretty fair trade but, I would take Pettersson over Suzuki because he is more of a goal scorer and can change the game with 1 shot.

PPG over the last half of the season, and 100 pt pace over the last 1/4 of the season.

He missed almost all of last season, and had his wrist wrapped to start the year. He’s been just fine since.

Says the Oilers fan who have wasted the prime years or 2 of the better players in the league
Better than the Canucks and habs wasting a decade of the sedins and price away. Difference is the 2 of the better players in the league has yet to retire. So the jury is still out whereas look at all the monkey crap the Canucks wasted from Bure to the Sedins. Next up the bunch of hasbeens in the current roster.

That’s good to hear, I honestly have not watched a full Canucks game since 2021.

Suzuki is also playing at a 100 point pace over the last 20 games and doing so while at centre and his team’s offensive focal point, though.
