Barrie is decent at what he does. He has had massive expectations heaped on him after his early career production which he could not meet (as a strong two-way defenseman). It doesn't mean he isn't a capable player.

We lost a great player in Ekholm. We all know that. WIth that said, our team is much healthier after this trade deadline. There is simply no other way to look at it. Ek wasn't the problem here, but, if you can't win with the current group, you do need to make changes. This gives our team a jolt and hopefully gets Ekholm a cup and the notieriety as a true two-way star that he deserves.

It helps barrie that he has an absolute bomb of a shot. He has that violent kind of shot that you normally see out of bigger stronger players. It's not a Weber type shot but it's better than Josi’s.

Hard to find a trade that seems like a win-win - but this definitely seems like it.

Hope Barrie does good things there. He became a fan favourite over time and just by working his way into a better player over the past few years - a lot of stigma around him started from the Leaf days but that can easily be shed playing him in the right spots. That’s something Nashville should be able to do with the d-corps they have.

I think he was sick for their last game but not much so far. Nino has 2G 2A in 5 games for the jets so it looks like hes trying to will them into winning some games.

I watch a lot of Oilers games just because it's such a treat seeing McDavid do his thing. A nice added bonus now is getting to watch Ekholm too. Go get a Cup bud.
