Hall doesn’t help this team. If Skinner and his contract weren’t here it might have been an option but not now. That money has to be used on a 2C and hopefully upgrade in net.

In most cases yes, but if by some miracle we had a chance to land Hall you absolutely do it because he is a rare winger who is capable of driving a line at an elite level. It would be like de facto signing a legit #2 center.

There are certainly reasons against Hall, like cap hit or concerns about term required with his age. However, I think saying he wouldn't help this team is a little off.

I don't believe that Hall would have much interest in signing here unless they vastly overpaid him.

But as long as he was healthy, he would certainly make the team better.
