"How can you have him with ..." and "Why do you not pick ..." I look forward to a scary aha experience of having missed the big names that should have been included.

Feel free to make your own all-time team....

Fogolin ahead of staios, moog ahead of ranford or salo. Randy Gregg ahead of Staios.

How would this team do in todays NHL?

"How can you have him with ..." and "Why do you not pick ..." I look forward to a scary aha experience of having missed the big names that should have been included.

Feel free to make your own all-time team....

1) IT was DAVE Hunter and not Dale
2) Dave player LW not RW
3) Salo over Ranford and Joseph?
4) The D is more or less all wrong

btw

Messier was at Center between Simpson and Anderson

So build the lines around

****Gretz---Kurri
Simpson---Mess---Anderson
DAVE Hunter---Mact----Hughes (still think this is the greatest third line the oilers ever had)
Smyth---Weight--Hemsky

D
Lowe--Fogey
S Smith--Coffey
J Smith--Huddy

Moog
Ranford
Joseph

Tikkanen-Gretzky-Kurri (how could you not?)
Hall-Messier-Anderson (little early for Hall but WTF)
Smyth-Weight-Guerin (loved the chemistry between Weight and Guerin)
Hunter-Peca-Maltby (checking line...)
Extra: The Rat!!

Pronger-Coffey (frickin hate Pronger..)
Lowe-J.Smith (frickin hate Lowe..the Boss, not player)
S.Smith-Beukeboom (twin towers together again.)

Ranford

This one will be hard to argue. Combining some different era's though.

Esa Tikkanen - Wayne Gretzky - Jari Kurri
Craig Simpson - Mark Messier - Glenn Anderson
Ryan Smyth - Doug Weight - Ales Hemsky
Taylor Hall - Ken Linsmen - Bill Guerin

Paul Coffey - Lee Fogolin
Chris Pronger - Steve Smith
Kevin Lowe - Charlie Huddy
Jason Smith

Grant Furh
Bill Ranford
Curtis Joseph
(Honorable mention: Andy Moog)

Can anyone do better?

Based on their play in Edmonton (ie no Oates)
Tikkanen Gretzky Kurri (obvious)
Hall Messier Anderson (again no brainer)
Smyth Weight Guerin (Guerin wasn't here for very long but this line was simply dynamite)
Nilsson/Simpson Linseman Hemsky (unreal raw talent here)

If more of a checking line was needed I would go Moreau MacT Grier

Coffey Pronger (how good would've these guys been?)
Lowe Huddy (solid second pair)
Fogolin J.Smith (defensive machine)
S.Smith

Fuhr
Ranford
Joseph

I'd argue Eberle's 30 goal/76 point sophomore season was as impressive as Hemsky in 06. Eberle's already twice the goal scorer that Hemsky ever was.
I would argue a 77 point season playoff appearance and cup final season is more impressive than a 76 point season and deal last in standings. And I am one of the biggest Eberle supporters in here.
