I think they would have lost the timeout after the three minute warning anyway.

Edit: yeah you can only use one timeout in the final three minutes.

The good news is that Brock will probably feel a little heat for a second straight underperforming year and I don’t think he has any particular loyalty to Maas.

Yes, only one back-up QB on the roster the last few weeks so the 3rd guy sitting on the practise roster is probably not an option in this game. No matter, Maas would never insert either of them anyway.
