3-1 Arizona. Nikitin gets a goal trying to chip it in.

Girl; so what do you do for a living, then? you're an athlete...like a professional athlete?
Guy; Yeah, I play hockey. I play in the NHL. It's pretty sweet.
Girl; That's soooooo coooooool!! I love hockey!!! What team do you play for?
*guy spills drink on himself*
Guy; oh ****!! I better clean this up, hold on I'll just go to the washroom.
*guy runs full speed out the front door*

Any word on Fasth's injury? I heard Eakins say in yesterday's post-game that they would be recalling a goaltender from OKC. A Scrivens-Bachman tandem doesn't exactly fill me with confidence...

That should have been a save right there.

Petry and Marincin looked like the best duo this team has had in years.

I just don't see any logic that justifies not having these guys in the lineup playing together.

Them plus Fayne/Nikitin gives you two solid duos and a huge improvement over last year. Doesn't seem like rocket science.

Schultz/Ferrence as the bottom pairing getting mostly special teams ice time. Schultz PP, Ferrence PK.

IMO Klef instead of Ferrence, but whatever.

Nurse back to junior and you make a move over summer to free up a spot for him.

Finally Petry has some help, looks better (worth something in a trade), is happier (signs a contract) and now you have a player that is worth something to your team and other teams.

Problem is Hunt could be sheltered a la Leddy on Chicago if we had a stable d core. We don't. Everyone is scrambling.

and putting Schultz and Hunt together is lunacy.

lol Hunt played the 3rd most minutes on our team last game. He is an AHL/7th NHL D/PP specialist

If we give up 5 goals again Eakins better be canned when he gets back to town.

Yet it will take our head coach 20 games to figure out what everyone on here figured out before the season started.

Can't describe how sad it is that we're mid-October and already in a must win situation before the playoff slip out of sight.

I thought Hunt did pretty well so far.

Sure he's got some mistakes, like this GIF, to iron out, but so do apparently the goalies. That should have been a save right there.

I think some posters are too hard on Hunt. Just picking apart every mistake that he makes and not saying **** about the good plays he makes.

Do the same inquisition for Nurse, Shultz, and others instead of focusing sole attention on Hunt's boners.

Only good thing about the GIF is that Yaks was in position with his stick in the right place to intercept a pass.
The thing about Hunt is that despite the positives about his game (his ability to hold the puck in the blue line, his ability to shoot, his ability to move the puck laterally on the blue) the negatives about his game are what's killing us as a team.

Brad Hunt has a skill set that you can use against certain teams and during certain games. That's what a 7th defensemen is, no? Yet it looks like Eakins has Petry and Nurse in that 6th and 7th spot.

This team has allowed 15 goals against in 3 games. Brad Hunt has a great shot, but Petry, Nurse, Marincin and Klefbom are all better at defence than him - and he's beat them all out of a job.
