Was hoping we'd keep Ennis and sign him. Really good player - great defensive awareness, tenacious, good speed, passable hands and excellent on PK. Also plays well with others.

Should do really well in Edmonton. You will realize how much you needed a guy like him.

Why bother trading him at that price? You still need to be somewhat competitive, no? There will truly be no one showing up for Sens games.

People really crapping on Edmonton for grabbing a depth scoring option for a 5th in 2021?
This thread is much more positive than Hfoil Ennis thread
Some Oilers fan(s) seem to be displeased with this deal for some reason.
Guess they prefer Gagner, Russell, Khaira etc

Good deal considering the Flyers gave up the exact same for Nate Thompson

The thing is...Nate Thompson fills a clear role there.

Ennis...he's one of those, "produces well on a bad team" sort of players. Though in the case of Edmonton...they've obviously got extremely limited cap flexibility, and it's not like they're loaded with quality wingers ahead of him i guess. Maybe it works out somehow. He's just not the sort of "depth" most teams are looking at for a playoff run, because he's going to be a tiny offensive player out of their element in real bottom-6 minutes and role.

No... Ennis is depth on a line that plays his style... forechecking, fast and grindy.
