Interesting. That's a little bit more than i would've expected. Not a lot, but i thought they'd manage to squeeze him a bit more.

Could even be good value in that second year, if he continues to improve.

He got less than the comparables that went to arb and he is a better player than most of them. Dont see why anyone would expect him to take less. And how exactly were you going to SQUEEZE him. If he wasnt happy he would go through with arbitration.
