Ari ends up giving up the best player in the deal but get to reload with some high potential prospects and a couple high draft picks, Edmonton gets a good player to slot in with Draisaitl and give him a warm body he desperately needs and they also pick up a boom or bust player in strome who could put it together in Edmonton with his brother and best friend potentially opening up some future Drai trades.

thoughts? Would Ari want a roster player back instead of prospects not sure exactly what their trade block looks like.

No interest in selling low on Domi. No interest in selling low on Strome. They’ve got fantastic chemistry together and they’ll help each other be productive and effective in a great season next year.

As a fan of a team that has also sucked forever, I understand how little appeal there is in trading contributing youngsters like Domi for more futures. And sure, Strome’s AHL play is fantastic, but I just don’t see the value there for Edmonton and his foot speed is worrisome. There were similar concerns around Draisaitl until he took his offseason training seriously.

This trade would more than likely help Edmonton. Playing Strome with McDavid would be a treat to watch... Even as a flames fan.
