Montour is an offensive second pairing D having a completely unreasonable season out of nowhere. Ekblad is a high name recognition value player who quite frankly, can barely skate these days.


Their defence is a pile of crap. Forsling is a decent defenceman, but he's tiny, soft, and not really an amazingly mobile guy either. They're playing Marc f***ing Staal in their Top-4D in the year 2023.

They simply are not a complete team. They've got waves of forwards who can contribute and that's carrying them. But they're so entirely beatable. Teams just aren't making it hard on them. If you run a fast, heavy forecheck at that defence, they will absolutely crumple and collapse. Neither team has managed to do that with any sustained pressure yet.

I think calling them a great team, built for the playoffs is giving them way too much credit.

Your reasoning is very dumb. Boston made it hard on them and had the officials on their side and they still couldn't beat FLA in a series and they had Veteran cup winners like Marchand, Krecji, Bergeron etc. Your Leafs also played their best game and still lost in game 1. Which team do you think can push them on defense? They are the darkhorse Cinderella team that will go all the way and all the signs are there plus their D seems good enough with Ekblad, Montour the 20 goal scorer, Forsling, Guess, Staal etc.

I have no problem with reviewing calls or non calls but they need to do it consistently. Many many obvious and sometimes game changing penalties have gone uncalled and the refs attitude was "so what?"

Spend less time worrying about Florida selling out its rink (it will be sold out) and more time worrying about whether or not Auston Matthews' current level of Norwood is making him unable to concentrate on winning hockey games.

No doubt Toronto struggled with the added speed of Florida (as opposed to Tampa) but Bob was also excellent tonight.

Leafs deserved the win... Panthers got outplayed, but Bobrovsky stole that one, I like the Leafs chances in this series.

Also, Tkachuk I was told was going to hit everyone... he was on his back a lot.
