Ghost-Braun had 2 good games between the round robin and the 1st game against the Canadiens. In the regular season they played only 176 minutes together, posting a -2 relxGF% and a .928 PDO. Not good but not disastrous, with a healthy portion of bad luck. And for most of that Ghost admittedly wasn't healthy. I don't know what to take from that sample process-wise.

Meanwhile, 260 minutes of Hagg-Braun has produced a -7 relxGF% with a horseshoe up their ass 1.08 PDO. Thus, they have "chemistry." Then you have people like Meltzer, who after the 2nd game of this series commented that Braun was worse than Ghost (and Braun was indeed a positional mess), but Ghost was the choice to come out. Parsing out individual blame/results seems a pointless exercise here. It is what it is.

There have not been 6 better D than Ghost
There have not been 5 better D than Ghost
There have not been 4 better D than Ghost
Any further and we'd have to have discussion, so let's just skip that because it doesn't even matter.

What matters is that it doesn't matter how he plays. That much we know. The coaches literally don't care.

He's the inverse of Thompson, who can completely get his ass beat and still get praise from French Hakstol.
Meanwhile Ghost can play well individually and boom... punished.

well because ghost ends up staying more at home while braun rovers all over the ice

they just sucked together, one of the bad things that came about this year. I wonder what a healthy ghost and correct pp usage would've done. jvr and ghost were in the doghouse from game 1 it seemed like

if we win a cup, are you still going to be miserable over ghost not playing?

Health had nothing to do with Ghosts usage or results this year.

He was screwed by the coaches from the start.
