Has to be Adirondack as that would make all the sense in the world right?
It depends on how long-term their affiliation deal with New Jersey is. Wheeling is a bit further afield, but-again-I don't know the status of the Nailers' agreement with Pittsburgh.

Wheeling has been with Pittsburgh since 1998-99, so I do not see that affiliation changing anytime soon.

Sabres and Cyclones part ways, new ECHL affiliate to be announced at some point over the summer:

Columbus/Cincinnati???.
Glad to see Buffalo and Cincinnati part. Never was very beneficial for the Cyclones. When Rochester recalled goalie Michael Houser prior to a playoff game 7 in Toledo in 2022 when neither the Amerks or Sabres were playing and forced us to use Sean Bonar in nets, that was it for me. Other than the goaltending prospects (Johansson and UPL) there wasn't a single player who was sent to us who really was a stand out. Other issues as well but won't go into them.

Cincinnati/Cleveland/Columbus makes too much sense from a logistics and business/marketing standpoint so it can't happen. LOL. Cincinnati to Cleveland is an easy 4 hour drive so same day call ups/send downs can work a lot of the time. When Columbus was affiliated with the Dayton Bombers they often had a manned table with a rep so I'd assume that they'd have some game day presence in Cincinnati. I'd think that the Bluejackets would get a minor boost in interest in their product by the affiliation as its a 100 mile drive to Columbus. Additionally, having an NHL presence in the arena would give the Cyclones a bit more appeal to some although after averaging a legitimate butts-in-the-seat of 5,999 this season, it's not a necessity.

Uh, interesting thread title...

The Cyclones will get a few players from Hartford. The bulk of the work will still be done by their head coach, Jason Payne. Anyone in the ECHL looking for "answers" from an NHL or AHL affiliate is fantastically unlikely to find what they're looking for.

Thanks Eddie I was aware of how the ECHL operates, I lived in Baton Rouge
for a while and saw the kingfish. Some ECHL towns are tougher to recruit
than others...the Centroplex now known as the raising cane river center
was not a bad place to watch a hockey game...domino's pizza...
Please realize because I lived in that town...I wish them they well in
their attempt in the Fed

Baton Rouge is a tough ride for any team. Sports radio is all about LSU

1 LSU Football (always want to be number 1 football school)
(will pay insane dollars for head coach)
2 LSU Baseball (minor league baseball would never work out)
3 LSU Basketball not followed as much as you think.....
4 Minor League Hockey-we shall see travel will be brutal other than
Biloxi....no close cities.....tough city(baton rouge) to recruit players period

It will definitely be a challenge for the new team...see above comments

Yeah, we're talking about the Cincinnati Cyclones here, not the Baton Rouge FedFails.
