It's fine if you think that but I don't think it has anything to do with the games being tighter checking because the games certainly do not appear to be tighter checking. Maybe more physical on the boards/after the whistles but certainly not strong defensive structure. The bigger difference is now they are only playing good teams instead of a mix of good and bad teams.
There are breakdowns all over, but you can have breakdowns all over along with tighter checking. The two things aren't the same.

Some player thrive through this type of hockey (zib) and some melt away to the outside of the ice (panarin)...

I don't think panarin has penetrated the slot a dozen times in this playoffs. Everything is from the outside. That's not injury, that's playing style

You're complaining about something that has been going on in playoff hockey for 100 years. If you're upset about it then you need to adjust your expectations based on history. Play through it. Every cup winner has...
Actually I expect to get f*cked.

We have all regular season.

Pittsburgh interfered, grabbed, got every video review the whole series.

Carolina interfered, grabbed the whole series.

Tampa was getting away with a lot the first 2 games.

Maybe I'm sick of the game management bullshit.

This team has played through it. It gets old watching them have to play through it.

Edit:
It would be nice if we could edit reactions. Don't need this Tampa fan's sarcastic bullshit on my post

Over the last 10 games (basically since the end of the 1st round), Panarin only has 2 even strength points.

For context, in the same span:
Chytil has 7
Mika has 6
Kreider, Vatrano and Fox each have 5
Copp and Laf each have 4
KAM and Kakko each have 3
Strome, Trouba, and Panarin each have 2

If Strome and Panarin are going to play like PP specialists, then they shouldn't be getting 15+ minutes of ESTOI/G.

Fox and Copp are getting grilled. No softball questions from the media today

I just cannot hate another person as much as I hate Jacob Trouba right now

absolutely useless sack of shit in hockey skates

f***ing stupid brainlet
This is just a moronic statement. Why do I even come here to read this nonsense. Rangers would not be in the Conference Finals without Trouba’s physicality. Hell wouldn’t have gotten by Pittsburgh if he did’t knock out Crosby.

I mean nyr has gotten away with a lot as well, and if you say they haven't you're lying to yourself.

Strome was favoring his right leg when he went back to the room

Garbage hunt probably
Agreed about panarin pt.

Rooney will be back in the lineup on the 4th line and Goodrow will prob move up, or they just put hunt in like you said and roll copp centering panarin and hunt. 🤮

Rangers had this game. Tampa gained momentum from their power play goals and took over. I dont understand how anyone can say this was thier worst game if they watched that Carolina game when we only had 17 shots

He grabbed in the area just above his right knee. Such a weird play to pull a quad muscle.

Palat with the cheapshot on Strome that caused him to leave the game

Literally every player does this to every player in a playoff game at virtually every level. The amount of crying about "cheap shots" about Tampa is comical. We apparently have a board comprised of victims here.

Sure but the hyperbole is ridiculous. I guess ive been around these boards long enough to know that should be expected. Tampa scored early in the third and took over, the third period was all the away games in the Carolina series besides game 7 in a nut shell

I think every team gets away with a lot in the playoffs. Did we get one call tonight that could be considered "phantom" like the Trouba hold to start the 3rd?

That's what people are upset about it.
Well we didn't get called for a penalty when maroon's helmet got ripped off of completely in the corner, we also didn't get to penalties when trouba popped bellmare with an elbow in the third. The one call I had an issue with was the vatrano call, But it was almost guaranteed he was going to get called there after they gave Tampa Bay two penalties for plays on Igor. It's just a way that things go in the playoffs with officiating and it's been that way forever

The Trouba elbow was a weird one, I'll give you that. Seemed like the ref already blew the whistle and with the crowd noise the players couldn't hear it?

I'm aware of the bolded. I'm not a spring chicken to playoff hockey. Doesn't exactly make it right

We're still in a better position than we were in either of the first 2 series. They had everything to lose and still just edged out a 3-2 win. Just get ready for the next one. If we win, huuuge advantage. If we lose. Even ground going home. There's really no reason to panic.

The one call that pissed me off was Vatrano. The league wants offense but doesn’t want anyone driving to the net? At some point the onus is on the defender to not body the opponent into his goalie.
