5 point lead for 92.

But 2 goal lead for Ovi.

Depends who finishes better...remember voting is done in 2nd intermission and most of the guys decide who they want long before.

Why then are they always passing to the decoy?
Do you even watch the games? He literally gets the puck maybe once or twice each PP. Most of the time, it ends in the back of the net. He creates so much room for everyone when he's on the ice and never gets assists for it.

Kuznetsov has 3pp assists simply from cycling. No amazing setup. Point stacking from cycling. Ovi wasn't passed to and doesn't get that benefit.

To call Ovechkin a decoy suggests that Washington has no intention of giving him the puck. That his presence on the ice is solely to draw coverage and attention.

As soon as the opponent slips up and leaves that passing lane to 8 open, it's going to the back of the net at 100 mph.

Calling Ovechkin a decoy is idiotic.

Not any that I or anyone who actually watched those playoffs can recall.

If Kuznetsov wins the Conn Smythe, it will be because he deserved it the same as every other winner.
Yeah except 2016. They gave it to Crosby because Malkin had a legendary run in 2009 and they had to give it to him, which prevented Crosby from getting it. So because the NHL wasn't sure Crosby would win another cup before he retired, he was given a lifetime achievement Smythe. That's about it.

They had a 5-2 lead. Why wasn't he the triggerman on the 5 on 3? They were avoiding him

You gotta give it to Ovie at this point. Kuznetsov has had an amazing playoffs but you gotta add that Conn Smythe to Ovie's resume, the man has been a beast this playoffs.

I didn't call him a decoy. Teams design their PK to defend Ovechkin and leave others open in the process. When Ovechkin and Carlson switch on the PP, that's done to open up the middle of the ice for Oshie and Carlson so yes, Ovechkin is essentially a decoy in that situation and the Caps capitalized multiple times off of that play.

I think you are just arguing semantics. What you describe is what they mean by 'decoy' even if you don't agree with the usage of the word.

Ovechkin is known as a huge power play weapon. Vegas has to dedicate more resources to guarding him in particular, letting other players have more space to work.

If Vegas lets their guard down on OV then yeah Ovechkin will probably get high percentage scoring chance. Either way his presence is a huge boon for Washington's power play.

Lol I don’t mind Crosby, I don’t care that he won
Crosby played well in 2016 but the reason why people say it he didn't deserve it is because for Sidney Crosby his stats were quite lackluster. Crosby at his best is playing like he did this year in the playoffs 21 points before round 3 starts. That's what people expect from him.

I bet he will still get 1 3rd place vote.
