Think the idea of moving Carter has come up and he implied that he would just retire if dealt that’s why I didn’t go that route. I realize that Brown is in a very similar position given his tenure with LA

Yep. I think Kreider would be ideal in Carolina. I think the cost to get Kreider would not be ideal. Maybe we could return the favor of the E. Staal deal and send them two 2nds and a meh prospect

The usual return is a first and a prospect but I think gorton might be looking for a close to nhl ready prospect that is blocked due to a strong roster.

Yeah, pretty much. The Kings will have to be motivated to make this move, that doesn't mean that it's not possible at all. Like Blake stated, there's two players that are not going to be traded, Kopitar and Doughty. The rest can conceivably be in the mix.

Brown has a modified NTC, in that he can veto trades to seven teams.

Carter seems to have found the step he was missing last season coming back from the injury. Along with his confidence, physicality and he looks like he's enjoying play hockey.

As a Kings fan I love Brown and what he has done but I think if you get a first for him at all (with retention) you move him. Great culture guy but the Kings haven’t been relevant since 2014. They are in flux and need to shed contracts for picks and prospects. Won’t be upset if he retires a King but you move him at the right price.
