Even if that was the case, if Keith was open to it you could still trade him for a buyout and let him sign somewhere else. At this point he is simply not worth his cap hit and it may prevent moves that are in the long term interest of the club.

even then, I say we need a real plan. For all Keith's faults, we benefited a lot from having that 2nd pair LD. If Holland has a say in how Keith handles retirement, including if he retires at all, I'd hope we get something lined up before he does so.
