He's worth roughly one blindside elbow to the jaw.
Ah yes, innocent Daniel sedin sure was innocent with a shoulder to the head merely 30 seconds earlier with the puck gone right? Can't dish headshots if you don't want one in return. Keith wasn't right for what he did and hes an awful Retaliator, but d.sedin head hunted right before it so let's not paint him a saint

Can't call this out...

EDIT: my memory told me it was earlier in the same shift and it wasnt, but both happened same game, same period (1st) and Keith was clearly biding his time for revenge which led to the elbow

Keith is in the top 25 defense of all time. He is still very good defensively and probably the best defense on the team still. At a cap hit of 5.54M for 3 years even at 37 that is a solid deal. Anyone on here who thinks that Chicago has to retain or will give up assets to move him is lost.

People want to complain about the cap hit and term remaining, but honestly if he was a FA this summer, half the league would line up to get him and you don't think he would easily get 3x$5.5? Because he absolutely would

Teams would 100% pay that, but they wouldn't have to pay to acquire him, that's the big difference. If you sign him as a free agent and his play falls off a cliff in year 2/3, you give up a prospect or a decent pick to get rid of him. If you trade for him with his current contract, all of a sudden he's a lot riskier to acquire because you already paid assets to acquire him. Bit harder to justify giving up potentially 2 1sts + for a year or two of 37 yr old Duncan Keith.

Not saying he isn't still valuable, but he seems to have really fallen off the pace this year.

GP 56 G 2 A 20 PTS 22 +/- (-7) Icetime 24:14/G

He also turns 37 in July.

I don't disagree with you. But others have already posted he isn't worth his contract moving forward which is laughably dumb. There's a difference between what you would pay to trade for him at his remaining contract value and if he's worth his remaining contract value

This is where looking up box scores and not watching games shows it's face. Have you seen that more than half the year he has been paired with Erik gustafsson and a 19 year old rookie? And the remainder is likely the ghost of Brent seabrooks cement skates

That is why I said he still has value, but the stats don't lie as he is well off years past. Stats don't tell the whole story of course, but when a player that has put up stats like Keith has starts to put up well off those numbers, he is definitely slowing down. Not a big deal, that is what happens to all good players when they hit the end of their careers.

Can't see anyone paying a significant price to get Kieth at 37. Not sure why Chicago would trade him either considering his legacy there.

He was playing with a groin injury in the first 25GP

25 GP 1G 5 A 6PTS

Since he returned,

30GP 1G 15A 16PTS

He isn't going to score anymore, his shot is definitely gone, but most of the other aspects he had are still there. He has lost a bit of a step, but he hasn't really fallen off. Still great defensively.

If we were to hypothetically trade Darnell Nurse for scoring help to a team like say the Hawks could a trade like this work?

DeBrincat + Keith 50%

Nurse + Puljujarvi + small add

Klefbom Bear
Keith Larsson
Jones Bouchard

Very young D core could be an ideal situation for a veteran like Keith.

Haha what? Think you'd need to shoot first then take Debrincat off Stans body. No way you're getting him that cheap, stan should be fired if he even tried to trade debrincat.

That would be panarin 2.0
