Strong game from Rakell. Looked like a top 6er out there.

I'm not happy though. Still waiting for Perry, Kesler and Silf to put some more goals.

Let's not get too excited now. Maybe first we have the guys actually try to play the game with some remote emotion or will to win. Kesbae is ahead of the other 2 at the moment but still this is pretty sad.
At least Vatman plays with attitude.

Attitude isn't enough, he needs to up his offensive game. One assist in 11 games is unacceptable for a PMD with that amount of PP TOI.

If other people start scoring he'll have more. He's one of only a few that have scored.

Well, Stewart had a great game, but this is his MO. He shows this kind of game and that's what's gotten him contracts, but the first nine games is what's gotten him traded a million times. We'll see which version shows up on Wednesday.

haha ya this game was soooo Stewart. He goes in waves where he is invisible, goes in waves where he looks like a goal scorer, goes in waves where he plays like one of the better power forwards in the league and waves where he is a 4th line grinder. I really don't understand him at all and find him extremely frustrating cause he could be such a good NHL player if he stays consistent. Im curious what Stewart shows up next game

Rakell, Stewart, Freddy, and Sami were very good. Perry is really pressing right now. Puck won't settle for him at all

Same poster spent all summer trying to convince us Vats should be traded.

I'm well aware of his antipathy for Vatanen. Calling him out for not scoring more on a team who isn't scoring the same night he has a 1G 1A game and is now tied for second in points on the entire team is pretty bizarre timing if he wants to be taken seriously though.

Its nothing new that Perry "sucks" at the beginning of the season. When he scored that 50 goals at 10-11 season, he was lazy as **** first 20 games (+Getzlaf too). People always say that he was really good that season, but that first 20 games when he and Getzlaf were "surfing" put Ducks in very difficult situation and they played the rest of the season like play-offs games just to get in the play-offs. So they were very tired already when play-offs begun.

Is it just me or is this iteration of Ducks...well so SOFT. Ugh.

Happy about the win, but I'm still not really impressed with the level of play. Baby steps I suppose. :)

got home late from the game. lots of tense moments but overall a win is a win.

not happy with the play towards the end. it ended up being a preds shooting gallery at one point. freddie played well enough to keep us in the game, and while the boys still sucked defensively at times, as long as they continue to pot goals, they should start bagging some wins. lots of room for improvement though. lots.

vatman punches above his weight for sure. lots of confidence. surprised by the way stewart played tonight, and Ricky Rak stole the show with his sick goal. glad to see Cogs finally pot one in after a handful of attempts too.

i think all that came out incoherently but i only had like 3 hours of sleep so yeah. Go Ducks!

I'm talking about his season. He is an integral part of a dysfunctional PP. It should be his responsibility to make things happen for the forwards. He is a PP specialist on the team with one assist through 11 games. I'm not expecting miracles in expecting him to get 25 assists while playing behind a PP forward core with arguably 2 top 20 forwards in the league. I was responding to a post that singled Vatanen out positively while he's one of the reasons for a bad start and plays a big role on the PP that hasn't lived to it's best potential.

And considering the trade, his trade value was different before the season started, and will be completely different next summer. It was only about asset management (bringing Theodore in), not because his on ice value was low (was expecting a close to 50 point season from him).

Let's just take the W and leave it at that, we haven't had that option much this season

I agree, take the W, and see where we go from here. Won't worry about some unpredictable future and just revel in the win. Also my new 3rd jersey will be coming soon, they look damn good IRL. :yo:

I am a big Murray fan - but it is obvious that this team has somehow become both less physical and less skilled. not a good combo.

The forwards aren't scoring. He's playing with three forwards who have ZERO goals combined. Including those 2 top 20 forwards. Vatanen has been probably the least responsible guys for the bad start, he and Fowler have been the bright spots most nights. If the forwards aren't scoring, then yes, you're expecting miracles thinking he can set up the other defensemen 25 times this year.
