Friedman doesn't work for TSN lol

Same crap. He’s basically in the loop. You know where I’m getting at. Don’t be a smart alec. Next thing we’re gonna get chiming in is Barry Melrose also in the loop.

Lol no, your point is actually quite horrible, Friedman works for TSN's direct competitor, his info is often contradictory to what they are saying.

But either way, Friedman quoting GMs saying the Ducks love Manson and that they would be surprised if he's dealt, and TSN saying they are listening - those statements do not contradict each other. It makes it sound as though they have at least discussed Manson with teams but have asked for a premium. Perhaps not just a 1st but also a young potential top 4 D.

Manson to Rangers for their 1st

Rakell to Oilers for their 1st

Thats the ideal trade scenario imo. Put conditions on it as you wish. As long as Anaheim sells high while the market is hot.

Why would they. Keep your top6 C and your top4 RHD and build around them. For 15-30OA picks? No thanks.

If Ducks are moving Manson, they will want a 1st...and someone will pay it.

As a Leaf fan, I don't see why they shouldn't be the ones to do it. The guy is literally a perfect fit in terms of style of play, and potentially most important -- contract.

Make the trade as follows: Toronto 2021 First, Liljegren, Bracco, Ceci

Ducks get Toronto's best prospect not currently in the NHL (former 17th OA) and a guy with a lot of upside. If Carolina's pick slides, then Anaheim's slides as well. Toronto includes their 2020 2nd (top 45) and Anaheim sends back their own 3rd this year.

It's a big chunk of futures, but it keeps their roster in tact up front... they'll have to bank on trying to recoup some of that draft capital when one of Johnsson/Kapanen/Kerfoot become a cap casualty in the summer.

Rakell is a winger, but the point still stands. Those are returns that these two could fetch as rentals.

If the Ducks are moving out Manson with such a barren D pipeline, it's likely because someone offered a very good young defenseman.

The poster you quoted is obsessed with loading up on 1st round picks. Doesn't seem to realize that even in the strongest of drafts (like say 03), at least half the first round picks fail to reach the level Rakell and Manson are at. Moving core pieces such as those, while they are signed to affordable deals with term, for a deal built around a 16-31 pick, has way less likelihood of ever helping the team improve than trading them for blue chip prospects.

Another 1st or two in a great draft would be nice but it's not the team's top priority or foolproof path to success as some are convinced.

What's the price tag from Colorado for Kase + Manson?

Timmins seems like a good piece to target in a Manson deal, as the Ducks have nothing in the RD pipeline. Plus him and Kase both have concussion history so it cancels out or something.

I could see asking for Timmins + Helleson + 1st for Manson...does that sound unreasonable?

Kase is such a tough one to pin down, there are so many reasons to believe he's a much better player than his counting stats will show to this point. If Lebrun's suggested value of a 3rd and nothing prospect is all we could get (seems light), I don't see why the Ducks would consider moving him. A change of scenery, player for player swap would probably be more likely. Is Jost a candidate for something like that?

Fixed that for you...

Anyway.

As it needs to be pointed out again apparently, one team saying "We're willing to listen to offers" does 'not' mean "Woo hoo, we can offer trash & they're desperate to take it..."
