Dream, but as realistic as possible, 2016 Flames lineup?

I think Hudler will be dealt this season. I also think Raymond and Setoguchi will do surprisingly well, and Seto will get an extension.

A month later and I still agree with myself .

I think you have too many rookies in the lineup, let alone them being in the top 6. I don't see Bennett becoming the #1 centre in 2015-2016, especially if he's in the OHL again this upcoming season. This is the same circumstance with Poirier,; I don't see him hovering on the 1st line after a year in the AHL, nor would I want him to.

Maybe it's just me, but I think all of the rookies I listed are capable of making the lineup in 2 years. Granlund and Reinhart definitely will and I think Poirier/Bennett will be NHL ready.

Very optimistic? Yep

capable? yes. The likelihood of them all making the jump? Low.

At least 2 regular forwards are going to need to be moved out in the next 2 years if not more, it will be up to the young guys when that happens.

So far, we've signed Wolf, acquired Bollig, signed Engelland, it's not rocket science to know that we are going the truculent route. Hudler will be moved for a bigger, lesser skilled LW/RW forward and a prospect/pick.

In the event we were to acquire someone like Larsson or Stone in a deal built around Sven:

Gaudreau - Bennett - Poirier
Klimchuk - Monahan - Granlund
Bouwma - Backlund - Colborne
Reinhart - Jankowski/Arnold - Smith

Byron/Ferland/McGrattan/Agostino/Wolf

Giordano - Brodie
Hanifin/Kylington - Larsson/Stone
Russell - Wotherspoon
Smid - Engelland

Kulak/Sieloff/Hickey/Acolatse/Culkin/Kanzig/Ramage

Ramo
Hiller/Ortio

Gillies/McDonald

/rebuild

Edit: 2017 probably more likely than 2016, but still.. really like the looks of that.

Edit #2: can't believe I forgot about Backlund (who I feel is in our long-term plans), I can see InfinityIggy wagging his finger at me lol

Traded / Unsigned:
Ramo - 2nd
GlenX - 2nd +
Jones - unsigned
Seto - unsigned
Wideman - 3rd

In / Called up:
Mike Green - 3yrs x 7
Wotherspoon, Knight, Reinhart, Bennett, Baertschi.

Ideally i'd like to sign a decent veteran RW and keep another rookie in the minors, but it's hard to predict. I could see Green taking big money on a short-term deal in his hometown. Wouldn't do anything over 3 though.

Honestly, this is a total crapshoot at this point. So many guys who could potentially make it.

Baertschi - Monahan - Colborne
Gaudreau - Bennett - Granlund
Glencross - Backlund - Ferland
Bollig - Knight - Reinhart

Giordano - Brodie
Smid - Wotherspoon
Russell - Engelland
UFA

Ramo/Ortio

Poirier, Agostino, and Smith just barely missed.
