Any concern about how not so great offensive output at any level other than High School? His USHL stats aren't too great for a possible 1st rd pick.Yes, speed and skill. Which he has.

Luke Kunin
Kieffer Bellows
German Rubtsov
Bellows is what we need. 50 goals in 60 games is attractive.
I think his USHL stats are respectable given the small sample size when coupled with his HS stats. Seems like his upside may be pretty high but whether he reaches it is the question. Maybe like a Lawson Crouse type that did't put up great numbers and still went 11th last year in a deeper draft.
Yeah, it's a bit concerning, but his USHL games came at the very beginning of the season, and the very end. From what I've read, he looked much better in his 2nd stint. If it was the other way around, I'd be much more hesitant.
He had two stints with Fargo Force:
09/25/15 to 11/07/15: 12GP, 5G, 1A, 6P
02/26/16 to 04/09/16: 15GP, 5G, 3A, 8P
Not to much of an improvement...
The numbers don't look much different, but I kept reading that he looked better the second time around. He's obviously a project...
Ryan Kennedy of The Hockey News - March 8, 2016 -
"Tufte (somewhat) controversially went back for one more year with his Blaine high school team this year, but it turned out to be a master stroke. Starting the year in Fargo, he struggled. But the 6-foot-5 University of Minnesota-Duluth commit went off at Blaine for three points a game and now back in the USHL, he looks like a brand new player – the best raw prospect one scout had seen from the state of Minnesota in decades."
Hockey Prospect Black Book -
"Tufte finished the season back with the Fargo Force at the end of the year where he continued his impressive play."
"In his return to Fargo later in the year we saw a more confident player who wasn’t shy to take the puck to the net and use his size and reach more effectively."
Hockeywriters.com -
"Tufte began this season with the USHL’s Fargo Force, but ultimately returned for his senior year of high school after struggling in a brief stint with the Fargo Force. After tallying over three points per game and dominating the Minnesota high school tournament, Tufte re-joined the Force and solidified his draft stock as a first-rounder with a much improved performance against elevated competition."
I'm not too worried about his USHL numbers. Bjugstad stayed in HS his whole draft season and turned out fine. If the Flyers pick Tufte it'll be based on watching him play, and using that to project what he'll be five years down the road.

Based on the Sanheim pick, I wouldnt be suprised if we picked Tufte.
He is just a guy I think we can get via trade up late in the 1st or early 2nd

I disagree. IMO, he's the type of prospect that will go higher than he's generally projected. Some team will fall in love with his upside. Really, he's not projected that far off from our pick anyway. He's 26th in the aggregate list posted in this thread, even with it having Button as ranking Tufte 45th, which he publicly said was a mistake. As Button said he should have had Tufte as a 1st rounder. He's probably more in the 22-23 range as a consensus.
