Cool.

FitzGerald and Jackson are staying together in St. Louis. As a Thunderbird fan, that's pretty bad ass.

I like Colorado's second round a lot so far: Stoa, Stastny, and Fritsche. 3 of my favorites, I was really hoping the Pens would move up and get Stastny, but I'm glad that he went to a team I like anyways.

NHL.com is sort of updating the second round. Sometimes they disappear though.

I was a little puzzled at the move by Lacroix to deal the 27th pick - looking back at it now, it seems like a smart move. The guys he wanted were still available at #34 (Stoa) and #44 (Stastny), and he got two pretty safe picks in Durand and Fritsche.

I'm pretty happy what's gone down today.

I don't know. I am hoping the Pens can get Risto Korhonen. I was hoping he'd fall to us at #61, although I do like the Pens other two picks in this draft.

Anyone think it's a little weird that 4 of the Avs 5 picks are collegiate athletes? Makes me think that they want to keep these picks at bay and spend more $$ on the pros in the short term.

True, but they also hold their rights longer, so it isn't sign or lose after two years.

And that's my point... with junior players, you risk losing their rights much faster than that with college ones. Maybe this is a jump, but perhaps this is part of a allocation strategy in order to spend money to sign folks? We'll see how the next couple of picks pan out... hopefully, no more forwards...
