I'm not even a huge Ellis fan and think thats wrong. Is he a top pair guy? No, but he is a super solid 3rd or even an ok second due to his offensive ability. His PP ability brings something to the table as well.
His exact value is hard to say though. He didn't really seem to find his game until this season, and no matter how you break it he is undersized. However, I think he has proven he least deserves a roster spot on most NHL teams.
