Stick to the building plan, with a couple of decent offensive free agent signings.

That is exactly what he is doing...sticking to the plan. I am thrilled so far with maloney. He is doing exactly what he said he would do. The only problem is that we were unable to land a top goalie, so he signed a guy who has been good in the past to an outstanding 1 year deal. I am a big Maloney fan already.

So, would you go with what we have now? Would you start this season, with what players we have now?

Most definitely! For the first time in a lot of years I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I feel that the players we have now are going to grow together and mature together and become something fantastic, I'm in no particular rush to get there right now, I have enough patience and faith in the kids that even though we're starting practically from scratch there is something to look forward to and I'm willing to wait as opposed to going out and snatching up whatever is closest just to look like we're doing something. Been there, played that game.

That would be 3344 aka Native4 aka a couple of other usernames he was caught using here. He like to put up pics of Moyes and scribble loser across his forhead. I don't think he is serious about anything he says. I don't think he even lives in Arizona. He spells like a Canadian. He has decided that Maloney was Sather's coffee boy and now he is the same to Moss. He also thought that the players that we had at the begining of the year should have brought us to the playoffs because that is what he used on his NHL simulation game and they went to the playoffs.

Jim Gintonio said:
Veterans, led by captain Shane Doan, Ed Jovanovski, Derek Morris Ballard and others, will carry a big load, as will players trying to make a statement, like Danny Carcillo and Steven Reinprecht.

He thinks Derek Morris Ballard is his full name?:biglaugh:
He also left Reinprecht out of the vets and placed him with Carcillo under "trying to make a statement."

Oh Jim Gintonio, you're hilarious.

I stopped reading all AZcentral comments years ago. It doesn't matter the topic, it seems the braindead come out of the cracks when it comes to that site. You should see the political "discussions", my god it's nothing but one group of sheeple calling the other group a bunch of sheeple.

Yeah I meant to link just the article which was a mid-day update but it looks like Gintonio disabled comments on the article which is great.

What I don't understand is, why are we subjected to such pathetic hockey reporting down here? This is not how it is in other hockey towns. They get quality and accurate coverage. It is disrespectful to hockey fans down here. That article has no value to it. Reino, a Stanley cup winner, has to prove himself next season? Ballard is a veteran? Jim Gintino is a yes man to the Coyotes and we get the same fluff line from Jim G that Doug Moss was handing out (most of which has not and will not happen). We need more hockey guys in the front office or our youth movement (which I completely believe in) is going to flop.

You guys also missed...." defenseman Josh Gratton ";)

Gintonio you are an embarrassment, shows how inept some members of the local media are when it comes to hockey. If AZ Central has ANY integrity, they should be ashamed (and acknowledge their mistakes), my cat could do better job.

I admit it :naughty: ...I imagined this after reading the article. 'Derek Morris Ballard 6' 220lb offensive defenseman for the Yotes, has game breaking rocket from the point, aggressively jumps into the play and with a hip check from hell.'

:D (If Keith was Derek's size, the Bally booty bump might just kill somebody).

Both are 5'11''. If Bally hits the weights hard enough, he could eventually bulk up to 220ish like DMo. I doubt Morris was as big as his is now, when he was Ballard's age. The way Bally plays, it would be wise for him to put on some pounds, or he's going to need bodyguards like Boynton for the rest of his career. I get the impression that the players from other teams aren't exactly Ballard fans.

I got DMo's stats from the Yotes page...I'm 5' 10 and stood next to him recently...he's real close to 6. Bally on the other skate, musta been measured in his skates cause he's barely my height.

Good thing Bally upends the opposition and scoots outta there. Those boys never see that hip check comin but they sure know who hit them...I wouldn't be surprised if there's a list out there somewhere w/ Bally's number on it...(a burn notice if you will);) Thank goodness for Nick Boynton.

In this article, I just wish that Jim Gintonio was brave enough to just ask Jovo directly if the Yotes have asked him to waive his no trade contract or if the Yotes approach him for a trade to a Cup contender & would he willing to go? etc.

Some of these media guys covering Phoenix Coyotes need to be a little bit more nosy & dig some information about the Yotes & write more frequently for the Coyotes fans to read. ;)

So exactly what that Doug has been talking about hasn;t or wont happen? You know Doug is not the HOckey side of teh Business right? He is the everything else side. Fan relations, running the Arena, while the GM worries about the actual guys on the ice.

Not sure what fluff you have been hearing from him. At the open house where he spoke to all of us it flat out said we wont win the Cup this year and likely wont be in the playoffs. That didn;t sound like fluff to me.

He also said flat out that we ARE signing Bally...period. Negotiations are simply going at pace because both sides realise that there is time and they can make both sides happy if they take the time to do it right.

And to keep my eyes open mid to late August for a couple of good moves by Mal.

Ohhhh. Did Doug Moss talk to you at the open house last night and make you feel special:). I made that post last week, I'm not sure why you are just bringing it up now.

Doug Moss is the president of the Coyotes. He oversees everything. He told us that he wanted to bring in under the radar $1 to 2M players and a proven number 1 goalie (Maloney actually said a top ten goalie). He told us that something huge was supposed to happen by the 4th of July (I am assuming it was in regards to goaltending), it never happened. I would like to know what that was. And he told me that Jovo was 100% healthy and would be a serious part of the team next season, but then they asked him to wiave the ntc?

I am confused about Doug Moss' attitude of we are not going to make it to the playoffs. You play the game to win the Stanley Cup. I know 29 teams will not win it, but you have to have the attitude that you are going to be the 1 team that takes it home. It's kind of the point of hockey. Who throws the towel in before the season even starts? And then at the same time they say that they are going to compete every game. So are they telling the players "we expect you to compete every night, but you are by no means good enough to make it to the playoffs". What kind of message is that to send to a team? If any of my coaches ever gave me that attitude I would have slapped them upside the head and found a new team to play for that had confidence in me and would have been dedicated to and taken pride in helping me give everything to the game and win.

I just don't think the Coyotes Execs know what they are doing. They seem very chaotic. It feels like they are not even trying.

If you feel that bad about this regime it makes me wonder how you survived the previous one. Seems like MisterCoyote over on AZcentral has been rubbing off on you.

Things don't always work out they way you think they will. What would have liked to have seen done?
