Do the leafs need to stop being victims?

Leafs organization gets hated around the league.

Suspensions we get absurd games for pur players

Penalties we get screwed by opposing teams

The NHL is fine with anything on the ice that isnt a head shot. Leaf players (domi, gregor bert) need to start playing up to the role of a villain

1. Snow showers to the opposing goalies consistently.
2. Celebrate every goal like its game 7 of the SCF
3. Nothing wrong with chopping stick out of a players hands.
4. Diving to draw penalties
5.. Other douchy moves, be willing and active doing so --> Call a time out left in a blowout win.

Leafs need to be the villains and not victims anymore

EVERY team thinks they get screwed by the officials. I have watched games and then gone to both teams message boards and seen fans on BOTH sides absoultely irate that they are getting raked over the coals by officials. I try to watch Leafs games as objectively as I can. And, there are bad calls against the Leafs, bad calls that go their way, I dont' see anything that tells me they get any better, or worse treatment OVERALL by officials.

Also, the Leafs aren't hated around the league. They are hated around Canada, which is less than 1/3 of the league. To fans in Boston, Chicago, New York, Philly....they are just another good team that must be stepped over on the way through the playoffs.

IMHO Leafs should absolutely embrace the "villain" tag and become one of the dirtiest teams in the league. Good boy hockey has achieved nothing but absolute shit results

The question though is how do we teach Matthews, Marner and Nylander to start playing dirty

There is no answer. They're just not into it or hardnose hockey in general.

When have Tkachuk or Marchand beat anyone up ever...?

Tkachuk got his ass kicked and turtled on the flames. Forgot who he fought but remember him getting done well

Marchand is the least intimidating figjter ever too. He sucker punched Sedin in 2011 finals who took it for a Power play. He never fights, just does pest like stuff.

Our stars + depth should do the same. No fighter will fighter pur stars either. If they do have to drop the gloves, for pest actions, it will be against other stars who cant fight to save their life (see Stamkos vs Matthews in R1 2023 playoffs)

You certainly watch different hickey than I do.

The D is weak and the bottom 6 are not gritty enough. Keefe need to understand that and play a simpler more boring D game overall. Make the players draw penalties and win games with the ppl.

Specially if he insist playing John "can only score on ppl" Tavares and Will "no longer drag this old man and his walker around the crease) Nylander together.
