Do fans take losses harder than players?

I think for fans it’s always part of history and your identity- every part of your interest is in seeing your guys win. You analyze it, feel it, care deeply about it.

For players it’s a job. You want to do well, but you do your best and if it ain’t enough, ok, paid time off. Go golf. Get ‘em next year.

That’s not to downplay how much players care when they’re actually competing, but once it’s over- they might have a more pragmatic view on things, whereas I see Carolina and bemoan f***ing 2006. I care about our draft picks, roster construction, etc. Players probably say “not my job” at that point. I think that first night out they probably feel it in a way we wouldn’t understand, but after that they just move on in life.
