Did I hear that pregame stat right...England and Scotland have met close to 120 times over 150 years, but this is only the 2nd time in a "big tournament"?

I definitely remember their Euro ‘96 meeting. Would have been nice if big Dunc’ had been available for the Scots but missing half the season because you were in jail usually doesn’t do much for your game.

Teams should actually be penalized for a 0-0 draw. Who wants to watch that for 90 minutes?

A juicy lineup today. Lots of star power.

This kind of stinks. Only 2 games and both at noon. I know which one I'll be watching.

More time to pay attention to the US Open, I guess.

Is he playing for free as well lol? ;)

a lot more pressure than at Lyon….I’m skeptical, but yeah could be a bargain.

Obviously not but could work out wonders in Spain, he's much better now than he was few years ago.

Even if he flops and they want him gone they will still get solid fee back in a year. Best-case scenario is that you've acquired one of the better strikers around in his peak for nothing.

Haven't looked at the table but I think there are implications for these matches.

Czech Republic and Englad already qualified.
The winner of Croatia and Scotland will also qualify. If they draw, non of them will go to the 1/8

It's just a wee bit complicated overall lol

This is tomorrow's wrap up of group play:

Looks like Germany could actually fail to move on if Hungary beats them and Portugal wins, along with some other tie and GD hijinx. Complex group and clearly the group of death as advertised:

Group E also with some shuffling possible:

There are definitely implications on who you get in the round of 16 and it isn’t necessarily what you would expect. D1 gets F2, so the second place team in the group of death. D2 gets E2, right now Slovakia but maybe Spain or Sweden.

So if you are England would you rather win and likely get Germany or lose and have a reasonable chance of getting Sweden or Slovakia? I know who I’d prefer not to play.

I think there's also an outside chance F2 could be France, if they lay down for Portugal to conserve fitness. Either way, Germany or France next round....not appealing for England.

Yeah there is a lot of combinations possible.

In green (combinations that are still possible)
UEFA Euro 2020 - Wikipedia

But it seems almost surely that Finland will be one of the two losers in 3rd place.

So you can focus on this
1B
vs
1C
vs
1E
vs
1F
vs
[TBODY] [/TBODY]

A CDE 3E3D3C3A
A CD F3F3D3C3A
A C EF3E3F3C3A
A DEF3E3F3D3A
[TBODY] [/TBODY]

And if Slovakia is defeated by Spain (and don't score at least 2 goals) it seems like the most probable outcome.

So B and E will miss the 1/8
and it means that Belgium will play 3F (one of the team in the group of death)

Right now Belgium has 1 chance out of 7 to play against 3F (with all possible combinations)

But if Poland beat Sweden (I don't believe it but still) it means that Finland and Ukraine will miss the 1/8 so B and C

At least I hope this year the bracket will be more balanced than in 2016.
