A fan base that's too apathetic?
Sometimes I believe fans get the wrong impression as to what exactly they contribute to the teams they cheer for. We can't get out pitchforks and torches and force an organization to do what we want. This is a business and owners are the ones with real skin in the game. We the fans can vote with our wallets if we like by not buying tickets and merchandise but that's as far as it goes.
I think a fair number of jets fans see the team moving in the right direction and are happy with that. I'd generally suggest that the fans that spend time here and on other forums are probably a little more involved than the average fan and that's why you have so much more dissapointment.
As for the original question. Yes a bit. If history tells me anything a team that played 5vs5 as well as we did should be fine. Maybe no playoffs next year again but following that we should be good.
