Made this thread because no one else did (or maybe everyone truly forgot what a PGT is? lol )

There won't be a Poll because we already saw who the 3 stars were.

Man, am I impressed with Yegor.

Wow!

He and Kuokk have given me so much hope for the future(the immediate future). :towel:

Bratt played well (as usual) but finally had a signature assist(PP Goal by Wood) that wasn't called back, for a change.

I'm sure if the Devils lost, he'd be getting flak again (C'est La Vie...). :wg:

Anyway, PK played solid and Sevs was terrific.

Vats finally scored a goal after a hundred years (also made a huge defensive play without committing a penalty).

Big Mac came up HUGE when we needed him to.

That was the Big Mac we were accustomed to seeing.

For one night, it was not so stinky (even with the awful jerseys).

LET'S GO DEVILS! :devdance::devdance::devdance::devdance:

One log I wanted to add to the Palmieri hate-fire:

kyle-palmieri-2021-51.jpg

Can't believe it took me this long to see that this is his official pic for this year. Purposefully looking like a hobo is a trend I want to see go away from the NHL. It got old after a year or two with Burns. I'm not saying we go back to Lou-era rules of clean shaven and short hair only but come on, at least put an effort to look professional.

Ahh, you missed all the beardchat? I think it would’ve been cool if it didn’t coincide with the worst scoring slum of his career. To his credit he did shave it off when his slump got bad.

Best Vats has played in well more than a year.

The Zajac line is now our best. All three guys know where to go and move the puck to those spots.

While protecting the lead I was impressed by our puck possession and a few consecutive shifts by several lines of keeping Buffalo pinned in their end. Maltsev had a nice shift of that type.

The Good:
Kuokkanen
Sharangovich
Zajac
Blackwood
The PK
Subban
Bratt

The Bad:
Palmieri
Gusev
The ice
The Buffalo Sabres

The Ugly:
The Buffalo Sabres

Remember folks, it could always be worse.
Actually thought Palms had a good game of grinding it our down low and making himself a nuisance to the opposition. I thought it was his best game in a while. An honest and engaged game.

What was with the guy slashing Zacha in the groin? Good we scored there - but such an ugly play. That can’t have been an accident.

Guys, I already accepted the fact that this season will be another without playoffs, but how much of an early season tease was that? It was just downright mean. I was fooled 100%. I thought we had a great team and I have been watching and playing hockey for 40 years.

Sharangovich and Maltsev are two big kids that I think will be around for a while.:thumbu:

I don't know about that man. He was a liability all over the ice tonight... That one backcheck was great, but it was because he was out of position.

I'm glad he scored, but yikes.

As one of the biggest PK critics here, I want to recognize how well he’s playing now. Definitely did not expect that. I know some feel that he’s been better all year, not sure if I agree but I’m totally on board to protect him in the ex draft if he keeps this up. He wouldn’t be the first defenseman to have a renaissance in his 30s.

To be fair, seems like what happened to Lee when he tangled up with Zacha was far worse. At least all this stuff happened to Nico in a shit season anyway. They were looking to go far in the playoffs and lost one of their best players.

In game I understand that injuries happen. Even non contact injuries. Nico’s face is bad luck. Nico’s leg is ridiculous

Forget the NHL. If you're of southern Italian descent you should know by 30 that your neck and chest hair will evolve into one eventually, as well as those bastards crawling up your cheeks as if they're courting your eyelashes.

The sides? He gets a slight pass due to covid.

At this rate, he may need to shave everything off and look like Dano 'cause he still ain't scoring.

Ultimately I see Sharangovich being put with Hughes. God knows Hughes needs a guy who can actually shoot the puck on his wing. I would do this at some point when Nico is back.

Zacha Hughes Sharangovich
Bratt Hischier Palmieri
Kuokkanen Zajac Wood
Maltsev McLeod Bastian

Edit: Forgot Gusev and Johnsson, whatevs...

My guess is Palms is gone before Nico returns

Can I point out that Nico takes a deflected shot off his face and is gone for a month and a half. Hall takes a full-on slapshot and is gone for half a period.

What is with our luck?

Game of inches. Hall took it on the chin so it was only a nasty gash.

Nico took one square on the nose and smashed it.
If it didn't wreck his sinuses he most likely would be back pretty soon but his luck he needed surgery.

The specials teams PK is also playing better. They are on a pretty good streak right now.

It also goes to show how bad it has been that all the successful kills over the past week or two only moved them to 30th
Their penalty kill was historically bad earlier, like trending to be the worst penalty kill in NHL history. It's going to take a ton of successful kills to climb out of this hole.

Didn’t catch the entire game, but I haven’t seen anyone mention it yet. From what I saw of Bastian I really enjoyed. Guy was like a human wrecking ball out there hitting everything that moved and playing with some great jam, something this team definitely needs a bit more of. Also got under that little runt Skinners skin (which should have been an extra 2 on Skinner but I digress)

Also I love how well Zajac is playing since half this board wanted to ship him to Siberia a few weeks ago after his bout with COVID.

We moved up again (we’re coming for ya Columbus!) note: different PK obviously
