Absolutely rooting for Schneider, but his style of play still worries me a bit.

He looks more like the Schneider of old reading the play and being in perfect position. He still is horrendous at controlling his rebounds which seems to lead to us always getting hemmed in our own zone and massively outshot with him in.

Good first step for him so far but I will eventually like to see him working on controlling his rebounds more. Would allow him to end sustained offensive zone pressure from the opposing team or alleviate it with placing his rebounds in the right spots.

I'd take a look at the Devils results with Kinkaid and Blackwood in. The Devils also get massively outshot when they play.

Also, what the hell was the Bryce Salvador penalty call by the announcer tonight? Did anyone else catch that, or did I not hear correctly. On that penalty to Severson i think, LOL.

Yes! I caught this! Also, about 60 seconds before that Kevin Clark the PA announcer mentioned former captain BRUCE Salvador during an advertisement. lol

He must have been hitting the heavy stuff mid-game..... The guy sitting next to me was already rambling about something so I didn't get anyone else to double verify i had heard that.

Good I wasn't the only one...

Cory's for a .911 SV and a 2.76gaa since he came back. He's been very good. I dig it.
That number seems too low. I think I got .913% after last game and it had to have went up after tonight.

Save percentage should be .925%. 11 goals on 147 shots.

I don't think Cory's back, but I do think signs are looking favorable that he may be serviceable and capable of hot streaks, like Marty at the end of his career.

I actually said a while ago that I wouldn't be surprised if he were a .920% goalie the rest of the season, because in all likelihood, he isn't really as bad as his first 9 games.

I don't think I'm really confident enough in him and Blackwood being the tandem next year, if only because both are very unproven at this point. We haven't seen enough of Blackwood to know if he's good enough for a full time NHL role and I still don't think Cory is good enough to be a starter, much like later era Marty, but is probably still serviceable and capable of hot streaks.

I'd just like to state that the Sabres farm team Rochester has beaten Schneider twice this year, but Eichel, Skinner, and the rest could only get 1 past him today.
This reminds me of when we scored a measly 2 goals in 2 combined games against Anders Nilsson in 2012 in the NHL. And Kovalchuk, Parise and Elias couldn't do shit against him, yet the Albany Devils with literally no good non-AHL players or future NHL talent (Eric Gelinas was probably the player who would later wind up playing the most games in the NHL) blew him out that year.

Actually, I think it had something to do with the NHL celebrating past NHL Captains who are African-American.

During the broadcast, this was talked about and Bryce was asked by Cangy what made him want to become an NHL Player in which Bryce answered : Grant Fuhr.

You had to be watching the broadcast to know this.

Ah yes, we didn't get that context in live game.

The call went like this in the arena.
It went something like "time of the penalty to #28 Bryce Salvador........apologies *ahem* #28 Damon Severson........ "

Had to double-take...

I think Clarke was just doing a shout-out to Bryce during this special day. ;)

That's because Rochester isn't coached by Phail. Also Bottamoron would rathet have our good young players waste their time in the AHL while trash vets who totally suck and don't belong in the NHL fill up our roster.

I looked at Yahoos fantasy sports app when i made that post which probably didn't account for yesterday's game. Including last nights it's a 2.38 and .925

dahlin is good as hell. may not have been an impact player last night but for someone as big as him he sure can skate, was definitely noticeable if not a difference maker.

I think the coaching staff was just too lazy to scout or make a game plan and figured the Devils are so bad its a free win.

He should have said "When you see all those players with #s in the 40s and 50s on the ice play super aggressive and greedy. They suck too much to take advantage of your mistakes. When you see the players with lower numbers play solid defense."
He instead said to his team "Play your game boys, we're better than them. I'm gonna be sleeping off my hangover in the locker room"
