FJG's Three Valentine's Wishes for the game (in order):

1) Two points or at least one for the standings!
2) Team playing well and maybe even scoring a 5-on-5 goal!
3) Kinkaid having a good game that hopefully won't be wasted!

FJG will treat herself to a chocolate for every wish that comes true. This will hopefully be a fun Valentine's game.

So....did you PIG OUT on Chocolate? :naughty:

One really frustrating thing about our team and this game, it wasn't nearly the best offensive game we've played this season, but it might have been one of the best defensive games of the season. Just considering the competition too.

We didn't even have a period nearly as poor as the 1st period against Edmonton or the 2nd period against Philadelphia.

I really believe truly that this team raises it's level against teams like the Kings. That's why we need to raise our level against the cream of crap losers down the stretch.

Agree with you about the team needing to compete harder against bottom teams down the stretch, because I believe that has cost the Devils points this season. However, on the positive side, if this team makes the playoffs it is good that they have proven that they have another level of play that they rise to when playing teams they think are "good."

I'm a few days late on this, but how refreshing was it to see our coach bench a young player after some questionable decisions, and still give him a chance to redeem himself later on in the same game? If that was Deboer and Lou, we'd all be wondering whether Blandisi was getting sent back down right now or not.

We still have the Blue Jackets 3 more times this year, that should really be 5 points at minimum. With the fact that have yet to get a point against them in two games already, I really think it should be 6 points. A clean sweep of them. You can't lose the season series to the worst team in the division and the team that could possibly finish worst overall or at least bottom 3 in the league.

We need to come out and feast on them like we're zombies.

I agree, but at least if the Devils squander points against bottom-end teams, they are squandering them against teams that aren't competing with them for a playoff spot.

But if we miss the playoffs by 3 points, those losses to the POS Blow Jackets and Lou's disaster team are really gonna hurt.

Hynes must really like this lineup.

He has refrained from dipping into the press box cookie jar for Ruutu.

The Devils are such a low-scoring and (IMO) offensively-limited team that it is hard for them to turn it on. They may be maximizing what they can accomplish in a high number of their games, and it is hard to do that in every game.

Yeah, got to make those games count. They are winnable if the Devils work hard, and down the stretch, this team can't afford to be losing winnable games. Every point is going to count in this race for a playoff berth.
