Hamburgular. Wtfs a Hamburgerer. Don't compare MacBlack to that.
You could compare Big Mac to a hamburgerer I think.

Well two days ago the decision to start Blackwood was panned here, now it's basically his net till further notice since he's had the two best goalie games of the year.
Career minor leaguer Andrew Hammond, who had that fluke hot streak in 2015 with the Senators. He was already 27 years old when he made his NHL debut, whereas Big Mac just turned 22 less than two weeks before his debut in the NHL. Hammond was also never really a legit prospect at any point, while Blackwood was.
Aaron Dell of the Sharks is more comparable to Hammond for me. Both made their NHL debuts at 27 and both had a really hot start to their careers and fizzled out. Hammond was out of the NHL in far fewer games than Dell though, who still remains in the NHL. And Dell has been used exclusively as a backup, whereas Hammond was the clear cut starter during that late season surge and hot streak in Ottawa and the first 2 games of the playoffs that year.
No. We weren’t. One person was though.
A gusev/Bratt Combo is not going to excel in hynes system. A Rooney/Hayden will.
I get the frustration but Bratt is just as soft as gusev. The dude would kill it in the khl but if I see one more weak push to try to look like he’s knocking the defender off the puck I’m going to scream. The difference between a plug with intensity and a euro skilled soft player is how they engage a potential puck battle.
To Bratt's credit he at least attempts to steal the puck from his defender (he had a moment where he stole the puck in the Canucks end and almost set up another goal for Goose, kind of like what he did for him in other games) whenever he plays.
And kindly get out of here with that "trying to look like he's knocking the defender off the puck" garbage.
Save your faux-outrage for someone who deserves it.
Bratt is not a hard-hitting Scott Stevens-type player.
He's a skilled, finesse player who can navigate with the puck in tight spaces (and has great vision and passing ability)..."finesse" doesn't make him weak.
Whenever he has ice-time, I do see JB all over his defender trying to steal the puck away.
You can play defense without checking someone through the boards, you know?
Oh yeah...also :
"A gusev/Bratt Combo is not going to excel in hynes system."
What system? You mean the system that didn't exist?
The system with everyone skating around like chickens with their heads cut off PRIOR to Fitz coming on down to save the day?
Well then either Hynes(or rather FITZ orders him to) adjusts his "System" to have them excel OR he is gone.
(Note : Having Zacha center them was a smart idea....but then the Devils went to the box too often and thus both players' ice time suffered as a result)
This post is 100% spot on. But it's like now that we beat a bad team and barely beat a "meh" team Hynes is no longer at fault, and people want to get rid of skilled players to suite a ****ty coach rather than get a better coach to suite a more skilled team.
Awww... but come on - if Bratt doesn't get PP and PK time and they take 6 penalties, that means that PKers like Rooney will get +6minutes if they play half the PK. so Rooney had like 7:58 otherwise, Zacha 10:53... Hayden 6:00...
Oof...The Devils were once again, an embarrassment from the dot:
Rooney 45%
Zajac 37%
Zacha 31%
Hughes 31%
That's just staggeringly terrible.
Hynes is still the root of the issues. They would have been smoked Thursday and today by even decent teams.

They were killing penalties all day and faceoffs on PKs favor the power play team. Hughes is going to be terrible at faceoffs regardless, he's an 18 year old. Christ. The last thing this team needs to worry about is ****ing faceoffs.

Missed this one, but almost every statistic I care about makes it look like this was a stolen game by Blackwood.
Fair summary of the game or nah?
Didn’t you say Thursday the Canucks were a real team?
You can’t claim a team is garbage in hindsight. A win is a win.

Agreed, Arizona will be an eye opener..they are quite good so far. This post is 100% spot on.
