And really, Wayne?

Lower-body injury?

Hope it's not the groin.

meh, only the first pre-season game. better be safe than sorry now.

though i was intrigued with how Simmonds would look on that line.

and I'm guessing my son is still having Visa issues but there's been zero word on that for a few days now

There's no point in Simmer trying to play in a meaningless preseason game if he's not 100%. Bummer he won't be out there, but better he take it easy.

Still excited to see Jack, Goose and PK in their unofficial Devil debuts. :) Not to mention the Jesper connection!
Goose is the guy I'm most interested seeing in the pre-season.

Friendly wager on whether they get better results than Greene-Severson if they are paired together?
The entire team sucked last year...I expect our worst this year to be better than our best last year in most categories...forwards, defense and goaltending.

Last year's team was one of the 3 worst teams in the last 30 years.

If the other pairings end up being an R-R and L-L (Vatanen-Subban, Greene-Smith), I’d imagine Butcher-Severson will be getting the best results for our team. They both have gotten good results in the past and will probably be taking another step this season.

It's a poor combo who will accentuate each other's worst qualities.

Those PP units should be interesting to watch.

I’m interested if Hughes and Smith work the point the way they did at the prospects game.

I think movement on the PP is important and it’s easy for players to forget to move; so it’s good if the PP structure has movement built into the plan.
