Best I’ve seen gusev play and it’s crazy bc he didn’t look like he belong in the nhl in the first week and now is looking like one of our better players

Yeah...I think the more impressive thing about Goose now is his DEFENSE (of all things) whereas when he first came to the Devils, he was all offense and a spectator on D, and thus a liability.

Even Dano saying it's much easier to watch the team. Not saying we're going to pull a Blues and make the playoffs but I think we are in for much better hockey from the team in the new year.

It's almost impossible to play worse than they did in 2019.

My concern with Goose is that he's going to go the mercenary route. I'd really like to get him locked up to something longer term than just this year and next, but I have major concerns that he's going to want to his UFA and cash in if he's playing well.

Sign Dadanov and maybe he will stay with a fellow countryman.

Unless he somehow plays well enough to get a Panarin type contract a bidding war shouldn't be a huge issue with all the cap space we've had for years.

He probably would've been going after Severson if Mac didn't stop Bergeron.

I'm cool with Bratt not taking part in the Shootout early 'cause he really only has one move.
Someone correct me if I am wrong but wouldn’t Bratt be ineligible for the shootout since he took a penalty with time on his penalty still remaining at the end of OT?

I thought that was just an idea people were throwing around, did they actually make this happen?

Blackwood was fantastic in that shootout. The whole team played great in the 3rd Period. They really deserved to win that in regulation.

Nice to see Severson get that shootout goal after the last ot game at home.

Also really glad that Hughes is ok, that looked worrisome there for a bit.

Isn’t he friends with Grigorenko? I know he was disappointing in his first NHL stint but he’s been productive in the KHL. Maybe he could be a bottom6 Center here.
