Despite some breakdowns leading to more goals against than you’d like, this was a dominant performance.

Before the game I said I wanted another beatdown like the thrashing we put on Buffalo, and I’d say we got it.

Jack scored early and this game was never really in doubt. You love to see it.

Liked the team a lot tonight. Didn't like Schmid tbh.

I honestly didn't think the second goal was bad. It was a weird one and tipped by several of our guys.

I thought if any of them he could have had it was probably the last one in garbage time.

I didn't like that we were just content to defend as long as we could when they had the goalie pulled. It also caused Mercer to get hurt.

this is average goaltending. 3 goals against on 2.92 expected and honestly 1 and 3 he couldn't do much on. his penalty was weird but he might have thought it was going in the net if he didn't touch it. Unless you're expecting Saros in net I don't know what you could really expect

I've been saying the Red Wings were ''Team Unsustainable'' for a while now. And they also are even more married to Husso than we are to Vitek, despite having two options that have both played better, albeit in fewer and isolated games played.

Washington is definitely the king of unsustainable this year.

Don’t know why this one left me nervous like. I wish we had another lower gear that we could use to control games where we have a lead. The helter skelter fast break style of play is not sustainable night in night out, especially against the good clubs.

Was happy to see the power play score but we’ve gotten static. Too much skating and waiting for Jack to do something and too little passing. No accident that we got off the schneid tonight on a pass for a one timer. And by Jack.

The second one was bad. It was tipped, but it went through him five hole on his knees. He’s closed up and it is stopped.

There others were fine. The defending on the third one is because they were tired after killing the penalty and couldn’t get the puck.

Yep dumb penalties at the end of the game. That stuff will cost us if we keep it up.

Weird statistical quirk: all the points on our goals tonight were by forwards. No defenders registered a point.

That has to be pretty rare for us. Guys like Dougie, Luke, and Nemec get involved in the offensive side of play a lot.
