A December to Remember?

Note: Let's make an early New Year's Resolution and move all the goalie debate into the separate thread so as not to overwhelm the general team thread with it, especially when you get fifty new posts after breakfast.

Everything aside from debating goalies that's team related should remain here.

I can totally see it, only because of the damn industry I work in. They refuse to give raises to their internal workers but gladly pay big money to new people...it makes no sense. Homegrown loyalty or something...

who knows if it's like that in hockey too
I'd like to think Fitz as a former player is not that obtuse when it comes to contracts and worrying about who gets paid more than who on the team. Of course we still don't know what the f*** either side really wants money-wise, we just know they're not close. Could be Fitz is offering 6.5 and Bratt wants 8.5, which would be lame on Fitz's part. Or could be Fitz is offering 7.5-8 and Bratt is either waiting for 9.5-10, or waiting to leave. We have no earthly idea what either side's motivation truly is, just that the longer we're waiting on a Bratt re-signing, the more likely it is he either wants to max out on money or leave.

We’re good. Thoughts?

Not worried about Bratt until after Jan 1.

And then only a little until the start of FA

at that point I will be legitimately concerned.
I’ll be concerned if he and his agent pull the training camp shit again. Hopefully it’s settled shortly after the new year.

The thing is, we won't truly know until after the New Year begins.

Then the clock starts ticking and if the months go by and there is no deal reached prior to the end of the season, it's time to start worrying.

EDIT : Is there an echo in here?

He seems to be the best forward in Utica, scoring at over a PPG so it makes sense he'd be the next call-up.

Guess they'll put Bastian on IR to make room. Someone had mentioned there was a bug going around the team (which likely led to Wood missing last night's game), so perhaps this is as a precaution or someone else got sick.

Happy for both of them. I thought Boqvist would be more of a skilled guy originally but he's starting to settle in. Even if the offense isn't great I think he's at least a slight positive player. Which if you can get your 3rd and 4th lines to at least breakeven then have your top lines win their matchups, well that's nice.

And big Z has been fantastic too. What a great find

Literally the only time Jonsson has been useful as a Devil is when Bratt supercharged him for a month and a half early last year.

He's been useful the whole time, he just hasn't scored a lot. On a line with McLeod and Zetterlund he should fit in perfectly.
