take travis zajac off this team and boy do you have one horrible hockey club, but he doesn't produce enough NUMBERZ for guys who got into hockey through fantasy sports i guess.

I want Carter back.

I find it highly ridiculous that we signed a USELESS SACK OF S---(Bernier) and an AHL-Player( Little Gio :sarcasm: ), but have not yet signed the one guy who is actually USEFUL and an NHL player in Carter. :shakehead

I mean....it's not like there would be teams beating down either Gio or Bernier's door to sign them. Lou wouldn't have to "make space"(or whatever the alleged report is in regards to the plan to re-sign Carter is) if he would've just re-signed Carter FIRST instead of those two nitwits.

I want him back too, but we've been over the Berinier/LilGio thing a million times already

people hate Zajac because he is not your prototypical #1 center.

which is not his fault. but people cannot get that through their head.

Did people really believe Stephan Deboer-Gionta was going any where? Thats Pete's son and you know he had a say in who he wants to coach.

I don't get the constant *****ing about fourth liners around here. Yes, Carter is a better hockey player than Gionta, but he's still a fourth liner. Does it really make that much of a difference if Carter is there instead of Gionta? The bottom six should be the least of our worries up front.

Yes.

You need to roll four capable lines. Using Gionta instead of Carter to me just shows it's more of PDB/Lou playing favorites then wanting to ice the best possible team. Carter is head and shoulders above Stephen Gionta and it's not even close.

the reason why it makes a difference is because every time Gionta plays, he always gets overused.

therefore, I would prefer if he just wasn't on the team whatsoever.

Malkin is not a #2 on any team in the league.... that is like Messier being a #2 behind Gretzky just in a lesser fashion.

Thats why is said that, sorry if you misunderstood, i didn't count them because they aren't actually #2 Centers, they are because of organizational depth

He was used for 12:27 minutes per 60 last year 18th on the team, 11th amoung forwards....should've he been 12th amoung forwards? Even while getting PK minutes he still was 11th on the team.

Perception is not reality.

there were numerous games in teh 2nd half of the year where he was essentially playing 2nd line center.

There were numerous games with injuries and lack of depth...should we get into the details? Or keep with the hyperbole?

i like stephen gionta because he's paid his dues and never floats or takes a shift off and has a blue collar mentality about his game, i also like ryan carter and what he brings to the table and i hope he makes it back to the team but what do i know w/e

I'm sorry Jim, but don't you trumpet face off ability, size/strength, and checking in your 4th liners?

Stephan Gionta is none of those things. He's a poor player with weak defensive ability, weaker offensive ability and is actually terrible on the penalty kill. It baffles my mind that he is on this team.

Oh, he skates around a lot. Great.

I hate him now? maybe I'm a Rangers fan.

when it comes to offense, whether or not Zajac's wingers are good or bad he is a product of who he is playing with.

But then I keep reading how he's better than people think he is, or he's the most complete forward on the team, or the most well rounded center we've had in 15 years.

it's gotta be a joke.

The more I think about it, 30-40ish points is probably what I'm going to have to expect from him for now on, unless he has elite wingers to carry him.

And the reason he skates around a lot is because he gets beat and ends up trailing the play. Hes poor in pretty much every aspect of the game. Hes the Rudy Ruettiger of this organization. Someone who pays his dues and hustles a lot, but has no talent whatsoever.

I would be shocked if he didn't put up at least 50 points next season playing with Cammalleri and Jagr.

Zajac will have between 50 and 60 points next year unless Cammalleri gets injured and Jagr gets old.

this is what i was thinking for him.. if that is a line and they all stay healthy i think hes capable of 60plus

This just isn't a great theory. He's a 40-60 pt player according to his career stats. Where is 30-40 coming from? Do you want to put him on a line with 3rd-4th line players so he hits that range consistently?

Zajac is definitely not a 30-40 point player. Especially not when he plays with Jagr for a full season and has a guy like Cammy on his other wing.

50-60 is a good expectation for him.

If He doesn't get 60 points playing with those two, then it will display how truly bad offensively he really is.
