It was a comment responding to how much Jerry Recco (a Devils fan) must be loving life on the Boomer and Gio show right now because Boomer’s a Rangers fan.

My point was that the Devils haven’t won anything yet, no logical fan is “loving life” just because you tied a series. It's normal to enjoy wins along the way and be hopeful, but no fan who's lived through playoff runs is lapping up Rangers fans tears just because we won a couple of nail biters.
Wait so all this started just 'cause I was pointing out that Jerry Recco of WFAN was a Devils fan?

I was just saying that he was "loving life" because his team came back to tie the game and at the same time annoy Boomer.

Not sure where you got that I said "Oh. He's loving life because the Devils WON the series".

Why are you making stuff up that I never said?

EDIT : No response? figures.

i do too - i think their tone and takes are extreme, but that's what makes it fun. and they do eat crow when proven wrong and are really good at getting players to come out of their box on interviews

but i know some people absolutely hate em
You have to take their overall hockey analysis with a grain of salt, but for interviews and entertainment, they're unbeatable. 32 Thoughts by a mile for stuff that's actually informative.

I think I'm allergic to Bissonnette and Whitney.

Tried listening once and I broke out in hives.
They are def each those type of people where you are like "why are you being like this, you don't have to" and it's not enjoyable, but then you listen a bit and are like "oooo you just are this way" and it becomes a lot more enjoyable to listen to.

Plus you kind of need to listen to their hockey stuff like you (should) listen to news, just listen for the broad strokes of what's happening or what you might have missed, but def don't take their opinion on whether it's good/bad or even exactly what is going on to heart. That aside, a lot of their interviews are insanely good.

No matter your opinion on what Roenick said and/or what happened after. The fact that they make guests feel that comfortable to the point they let their guard down that much says something. Some really good behind the scenes hockey stories probably only ever were known because they were told on there.

People hate them because of their owner. The show itself has never really had any of the issues ppl rip Barstool itself for. They've done more for women's hockey than almost any other form of media. I get guilty by association but the hatred for them is nutty.

Honestly the Chiclets are good for longform interviews/conversations a la Elias, Gomez (a couple of times) and Dano, but those are the only times I've ever bothered to see their show, and just for the interview part.

When everything in life becomes about "who's side are you on" we get people talking about two dopes, who use to play, talk about and to a bunch of people playing a sport we all love, like they are movie villains.

some of it is the particular fanbase. I'm sure smug fans from bigger markets laugh at them and their takes. There was a time last season when Kendrick Perkins went on ESPN and blasted the Pelicans and said they should move the team. Really ugly and really mean. The Pelicans went on a nice run and have nice fan support and he eventually retracted it publicly and is now nice about the Pels. My guess is that he got so much hate thrown at him that was visceral and just as ugly and it probably scared him a bit. Mess with an insecure small market fanbase at your own risk and my impression of the Chiclets guys is that they are not kind to this iteration of the Devils which irks fans that want to be taken seriously. To be fair, it's insulting to the players when the public takes are really bad.

I mostly like the Chiclets podcast. The stories are great and the eating crow is legendary sometimes.

Pink Whitney is not bad. Liquid Jolly Rancher, hits the spot sometimes.

It’s not as if these Devils have somehow become some sort of unbeatable juggernaut, though if Schmid keeps making diving glove saves like the one he made on a midair shot from Kakko in the first period, they just might. Hell, Timo Meier — pointless in almost every sense of the word in this series — should send the Rangers’ stars a fruit basket for keeping the focus away from him.

The Devils aren’t so much running away with this series as the Rangers are ceding it.

^^^ The Level of Cope by this author (Mark Lazerus) is so amazing. Calling Timo "pointless" (in both the scoresheet AND as far as his impact); Insisting it's not anything the Devils are doing right but what the Rags are doing wrong... LOL!! What a clown.

I see defensively liabilities on the wing for each of the top 9 lines. Will be interesting to see if those lines spark anything for the Rangers.

For all the talk of their offensive depth, and they do have a lot of it, the eye test shows just how brutal defensively they are.

Those lines reek of desperation and you're right. Every line in he top nine has a defensive black hole on wing.
