True but I figure I'd let many here vent in a thread that is focused on venting (and voting on who they vent the most on).

What exactly did Hughes and Bratt do that they are not included in the Everyone category? Seven shots, no goals and -1 for the "all-star" and more Ice Capades-esque perimeter play from Jesper.

Saw a lot more combativeness from Bastian and Johnsson than the occasional flourishes and defensive indifference of the "top line".

Now I'm really glad I left those two names out.

Hughes and Bratt did score the one goal and were at least threatening for many shifts. They seemed to be the only two who could enter the zone reliably.

And @Jersey Fan 12 , I hardly remember Bastian and Johnsson threaten much offensively with their "combativeness".

See, when Hughes and Bratt are on the ice, they are a threat to make something happen offensively.

Bastian's only true usefulness is on the PP where he can park his big ass in the crease in front of the opposing goaltender, and screen him while looking for deflections or rebounds.

Aside from that, Bastian is a slow-moving cement truck who doesn't contribute much 5v5.

This league is Fudging old to a fault. Why wait!? Fire the staff and let whoever get a head start, putting in their system. It wont help this season but it could help next season.

Most Likely: Ruff stays and the Devils rattle off a bunch of meaningless wins, giving Management false confidence to keep everyone for next year.

That was a pathetic effort by the devils last night, which is not excluding the goalie but the skaters sucked too. I’d love to see a breakdown of that by period because I’d be willing to bet that most of what it’s accounting for happened in the third period and can easily be attributed to Dallas backing off while protecting a lead.

Felt awful for Schmid last night. Didn't appear he stood much of a chance on any of those goals with Siegs falling on the first, the deflection on the third. I don't even remember the 2nd goal against and I refuse to rewatch any of that monstrosity again. He was essentially a lamb lead to slaughter last night.

Effort or not, that was one of the more miserable and joyless live experiences I've had in quite a while. Makes you almost kind of miss the efforts of a couple of years ago where we just blew leads ad nauseam.

Admittedly, I didn't watch much of the game - a combination of having to drive a kid around for part of it and coming back to see them getting blown out anyway, but his stat line of 0 shots and being a -3 wasn't very impressive. Is he just getting a pass for past performance or did he have a decent (relatively speaking) game?

I think the roster problems are much bigger than coaching.

It both. Roster problems are the biggest issue (I mean they have no goalies for crying out loud). But I’m not sure you can look at Ruff’s tenure with Dallas, his assistant stint with the Rangers and now this where all the same defensive problems happened and not say coaching is an issue.

If you fire Lindy you're not getting a permanent replacement mid-season, you're getting Recchi/Nas as interim for +40 games. Is that really what you want?

The season is lost, firing the coach doesn't change anything. They need to go eventually but there's no benefit to doing it now.

Thanks - not trying to rag on Nico, but seeing his stat line confused me a bit. FWIW he was not credited with a blocked shot or hit last night either. An empty stat line outside the ugly -3.
