I don't know about that.

As bad as Haula has been (at least at scoring goals, he hasn't been bad at anything else), I don't think I want Boqvist near there.

Boqvist barely has more points than Haula has goals.
Boquist has been a round peg in a square hole to me. Look back at his play after he was drafted and he was seen as a potential top six wing type. He isn’t quite good enough to translate that to the NHL and NJ has tried to turn him into a bottom six type of player with mixed results. In the abstract I’d expect him to have a bit more natural skill and creativity with time and space on a PP than Haula. Just my thoughts and as I noted I’m not sure it would really matter much even if my thoughts prove true.

It's been 25 years, but I still hate losing to the former Whalers.
I always like their logo.

My brother told me a long time ago that if the home team was losing at the Hartford Civic Center, that when people started leaving the remaining fans would chant "Let's go shopping". I don't know if that is actually true or not.

Haula hasn't scored much but he's been a fantastic addition for us.

Boqvist on the other hand, does nothing for us out there.....
Yeah, I'm getting kind of done with Boqvist too.

I was done with him early last year, but then he had that stretch where he looked like he was gonna do enough to possibly carve out a decent NHL career.

His points per 60 probably isn't that bad, but I'm just not feeling him anymore. This is likely his last year here. Don't think he'll be playing in North America much longer after that.

Their logo was one of the best in sports. Truly genius graphic design.

I don't think that story about the shopping chant is true, but it's plausible. They really did play in a mall. I remember going as a kid, and the mall was still there for a few seasons after the Whalers moved and the Wolfpack came in as the new arena tenant. I think they finally got rid of the mall portion in the early 2000s, but it was still the Civic Center until the arena was renamed in 2007.

Wood on any unit kills it. Enough already. Dude can’t make a play from the boards to save his life.

Funny how I predicted all this and everyone was telling me I'm crazy but here we are. Lately the bad passing, the inability to clear the zone and the inability to finish all pointed this way! Turn 2 of those 3 around and we will be back👍

Devils need to win?

More like Devils need to FINISH THEIR CHANCES!!

Right now, no one on the Devils roster can score even if they were given free "service" at a brothel.

That needs to change tonight if we are to stop the bleeding, re-orient ourselves, and try to get this wagon moving again.

We're not winning a game until we roll a Hamilton-Hughes-Haula-Hischier-Holtz PP out there in the first period.
I like Zetterlund and am happy for Tatar bouncing back after last season but they aren't top line wings at this stage of their careers and with the added responsibility of matchups against better teams it's no surprise they are struggling and that has a ripple effect on the team. Without Aho Carolina isn't much different than NJ though and it might come down to goaltending which favors Carolina tonight it seems. Fingers crossed NJ can score a few against a hot rookie goalie. I am curious if Aho stays with Carolina after his contract is up.
When you have so many "Middle six" wings like we do with Tatar, Zeterlund, Mercer, Sharangovich, and Haula it's all about figuring out who is running hot and playing them with the good centers. I feel like they caught that during the winning streaks with Tatar on Hischier's wing and mixing in Zeterlund and Bratt. Feels like they need to try Mercer or Sharangovich up there now because that unit isn't working anymore.

I'm coming around on making a push for a scoring wing if we're going to truly contend this year.

I really hate wasting Mercer on the 4th line. He needs to be back with Hughes. Let’s stop being so insistent on Haula with Hughes. Let’s give something else an extended try.
I think with Mercer and Sharangovich on that line they might actually get some ice time at least.

This new Coke sucks. Bring back old Coke! Gimme a Smith penalty in the first and a sluggish start then Nico scores and they torch them in the 2nd period and win by 3 goals.

Now I'm trying to think what Mexican Coke might be. A Hughes turnover directly causes a goal against, but he creates 3 goals for us, then comes out for his 3 stars announcement wearing a sombrero.

Necas seems to have come back down to earth. He was well over a PPG not too long ago I thought, now he’s 1 under.

Not saying you are wrong but Boqvist has had his moments and not being played as much as Haula. At this point Haula hasn't been able to score into an empty net .... apples and oranges🙄
