I'll keep it quick to save time :

Tyce got his first NHL point so congrats to him. :)

Bratt got a goal, then an assist to a Pavel Zacha goal.

Aside from that, everything else sucked Moose You-know-what.

No highlights this time.

Just the polls.

And this :

Have fun, everyone. :squint:

Ruff needs to smack anyone upside the head that turns the puck over at the blue lines. It's always in that 10 feet inside the zones.

It's been killing them all year, attempting cute little passes though the middle that are either behind guys or get pounced on in their own zone or stupid ass drop passes or curling up just inside the line and throwing it through the middle in the offensive zone.

I think I'm back to a not-watching state now after this one. Last time i think it was about three weeks. Lets see how long I go this time around. Fun to watch an organization who no longer has standards and aside from one fluke season has been irrelevant since 2012.

And for the record. Coaching isn't the problem. Its the f***ing lack of skill on the roster.

So if we lost to Buffalo and Boston has a losing record against us. Does that make Buffalo the worst team in yhe East?

Yeah, it's really annoying to lose to a bad team like this over and over again, but it doesn't really mean anything. We're bad, they're a little worse. We faced their best goaltender more than any other team, and he stood on his head for a bunch of those games. How it goes.

The amusing part is Boston kind of got f***ed by not getting to play the Sabres when they were lying in a ditch for a month. (I believe their one shot was COVID canceled.) Their six remaining games in hand seemed like a slam dunk 12 points but it’s not. Boston should do well in those game obviously but Ulmark’s numbers were very good in his one 2-3 loss to them.

Ulmark is 1-2-1 against the Caps, 2-0-1 against the Rangers, 1-0-1 against the Flyers, 0-2-0 against the Isles and, yes, 4-0-0 against us.

I think Ulmark’s return helped rejuvenate the Sabres. And as much as I appreciate the MVP season, the locker room is probably a lot lighter without mopey pants. Their younger players are stepping up now, perhaps that the whole locker-room now isn’t focused on the misery of not performing under pressure.

Part of it is his below average finishing ability.
Definitely agree with this as well. No doubt the #1 thing I want Hughes working on over the summer is his ability to finish his chances. And I think Hughes would tend to agree, it is clear how frustrated he is with himself for not being able to finish some Grade A chances.

Goddamn this shit pisses me off so much.

Why is this hard to understand? It doesn't matter what the rule book says, it matters how the games are called, and I've seen follow throughs called as penalties MANY MANY times. Especially when the follow through was very high and ended up as an ugly high stick.

I've also seen multiple missed calls on obvious high stick fouls committed by Washington, then when they missed one from NJ they stopped play, called a high stick that none of the refs saw to allow them to go to video and check, and then finally giving Ovi a high stick call on a play where he embellished and the stick didn't even touch him. (did he ever get a fine for that BTW? I didn't hear about it.)

We get the ass end of reffing because we're a bad team. It's not a conspiracy, it's just something that happens to bad teams. Just let people be frustrated with it, and don't badger them with rule 3.55.12(c) section B of the rule book that's totally inconsistent with what how we see actual calls being made.

How the f*** does Hughes generate so much offense without getting on the scoresheet. It's mind-boggling how snakebitten this kid is. It's absolutely absurd.

Get this kid some real linemates over the summer. At least one finisher. Please.

At the end of this season he will need to see a shrink.... Guy is so snakebitten... Its not necessarily his wingmen... Its just.... Unexplainably unlucky...

Follow throughs are not called as penalties by default - if it is called, it is because the ref messed up and didn't notice that the player was shooting the puck. Subban got called on one of these this year. If the ref sees it was a shot, it's not called.

The logic of 'we're a bad team, we don't get those calls' is silly because the Sabres are a worse team.

Yeah, I mean, I don't know how you can not notice that a player is shooting the puck, but even if that's the case, they seem to not notice it an awful lot in my view.

I'm not referring to this particular game with that comment. More the number of calls that seem to go against us. Obviously fans are going to notice bad calls against more than they notice bad calls for them, but even with that, it feels like we get the crap end of it an awful lot.

There are still bad calls that we get, like that Zacha trip on the penalty kill against Boston. Yeah, the refs probably let it go because it was a power play, but they shouldn't have, that should have been a call all the way.
