I've never been convinced Hall wants to be here and I stand by that. I also believe Vatanen doesn't want to be here, but that's obviously not comparing apples to apples. What it could imply though is who really WANTS to come to Newark?

i wouldn't worry. even with hall on this roster the team will still need a lot to go right just to be a bubble team.

its different feeling too because we aren't good. like when parise nieds rafalski gomez holik left a good team making us worse. pretty weird feeling honestly.

What evidence really is there that either guy doesn’t want to be here? Other than the supposition that Hall wants to play for a better team.

Centers are typically more valuable at the deadline, but if Boyle gets a second, Johansson should get a 2nd.

I don't think one thing follows from the other. Boyle's versatility makes him more attractive to playoff teams, who usually have somewhere they can stick a guy like Boyle. The same rules don't apply to Johansson, plus he has a higher salary. It doesn't make a ton of sense, but I would not be surprised to see Johansson return less than Boyle.

Devils didnt retain on boyle and could retain half on Mojo and they would a similar salary, also mojo can play PP, plays center at times, not a pk guy but he has more speed and skill.

Absolutely none of this changes what I said. It would not surprise me to see Johansson return less than Boyle in a trade, even at 50% retention.
